Adding new bones for cloak and flags

what would be the best way to get a pretty result?
I was thinking adding a new armor animation that would simulate the fabric momvment, but i'm unsure on how i can combine 2 anim, if i can (run, horse, attack,...) and the cloak/or flag.
Else for the flag, can i just create a long pole with bones for the flag?

It seems it does:

You are welcome to try. Alternative skeletons for humanoids are possible

Do not forget that you would have to change every single animation in the game, to coop with additional bones

Two notes on this:

1) You may not want to add a new skeleton just because of the animations. but you could attach the cape or cloak to a bone that is already there.

2) I am pretty sure you can make vertex animated flags so that they wave and all that good stuff while moving/attacking. Look at the CommonRes BRF's for that.

but is there a way to make an animated weapon?
Or am i doomed to export/modify/import all the native anims?

specialist: i dont really want to attach the end of the cloak to the feet, more make it 'fly' when the avatar run

You can attach it to the different bones to attempt something like that. It would be longer in the begining, but easier in the long run, since you can copy rigging from one cloak to another.

If you do it the other way, you would have to export/modify/import/reimplement(maybe) all native animations, since you would be adding bones to the skeleton. No faster way to do it...
