More still will come in time. Patience is a virtue. Believe it or not, the Developers DO know what they're doing, they've earned their paycheck. I know I'm one for saying we need more variety, and I still think that's true, but making three thousand damned thread over what everyone would like to happen, and more than likely WILL happen in the future. Development team's are only human, and with a set release date, cannot get every single thing that the people want into one release date, that stuff just doesn't HAPPEN. Most of you complaining have PROBABLY never worked in the industry to much of any capacity, therefore you do NOT know the strain of making a mod, let alone a damned DLC. They've held up to their promises thus far, and they're working as hard as they can to please US. So quit lighting your hair on fire and running around in circles screaming "ME WANT TWO HANDED AXEY DEV NO CARE FOR ME ANYMORE RARARAR BLAME DEV!"and focus more on giving them constructive feedback to improve the mod, not belittle them.

No one ever used scale. The only thing people used scale for was the end of sleeves and the bottom of a dress type thing. That was in Germany and further east than that and never near this time period. Leather armour was never a thing as far as i know. The only people that wear leather these days are gays, some gay guy brought all his kinky leather crap into metal music and thus judas priest. Leather was used for Sheathes for swords and other things, to use it as armour would probably be a waste.

I want this to be reasonably historically accurate. Scale is as stupid as a horned helmets although it does look interesting. Leather isn't needed as there is already a decent spread of low mid and high tier armour, where would it fit in? Id rather wear a historical Brightly coloured tunic than a bland/brown or black leather shirt that people in the Vikings show wear. Although the two handed axes are such a stereotypical part of the image of vikings it has to be true...
I haven't actually run into anything saying that vikings didn't use two handed axes.
I don't even want to use a two handed axe. I just like it to be there as an option for others. I very much like the idea that i can be a scrub with shield spear and seax. But it would be nice if spear and shield had 2 attack directions like the spear overhaul mod for brytenwalda. Spear and shield having only one attack direction means its underpowered and i don't think it should be neglected like that even if its that way in native.

Was my post just now constructive?

I don't actually give a crap about two-handed axes you see. I added that in seeing as most, and I say most, of the community want it. What I want are some more chest armor and head armor, such as leather helmets (a freaking huge amount of them in Brytenwalda) as well as some more types of chest armor (linen tunics etc).

I would like to see throwing axes. There is historical precedence for their use in Friesland (who were heavily influenced by the Franks, who have their own throwing axe) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francisca

The wikipedia article even points out that it was used widely up to 815 AD by Charlemange, even though it had been around since before 500 AD. We're talking about a type of axe which spanned over 400 hundred years use. There's no way that there aren't any still around during 875.

I keep pushing the *like* button but nothings happening.  Do I need to upgrade my ram ?

Throwing axes would be pretty cool, or add an option for axes where you can press x for throwing mode, that would be awesome.

As I have previously said in another thread, several specialist in ancient warfare, like Timothy Dawson or David Nicolle, consider that in the 9th century some Frankish warrior used scale armors, as they are depicted in several Carolingian manuscripts, as the Stuttgart Psalter:

The Frankish kingdoms exported arms and armors; many Viking weapons, like the Ulfberht swords, were actually made in Frankia.

The francisca disappears from the archaeological record in the 8th century, and Viking Conquest is focused in the invasion of Great Britain by the ‘Great Heathen Army’ that began in 865 AD.

That doesn't make it impossible to throw a normal axe at someone does it? I am able to throw my hand-axe in my shed at the wall, maybe not well at all, most of the time the blade doesn't even hit the ground, yet still, I think that adding an option which allows people to throw their axes (perhaps as a move before dying after being swarmed by enemies) wouldn't be a bad idea.

The people that make most manuscripts are monks and they know nothing about warfare, there are many manuscripts with totally impractical weapons in them that have no historical evidence of having existed. Anyway scale is stupid, you can slash upwards with a sword or axe and your weapon will slide between the scales. Unless you are talking about lamellar which is a different story.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that type of armor too. I believe that it was used by the irish and picts -alot-.

So you're saying that there was a renowned throwing axe in use in the Friesland area and England up to the 9th century. And then suddenly, everyone melted their beloved throwing axes into slag, and then randomly decided to use really similar throwing axes again in the 10th century? That's absurd.

Just because there's an archaeological gap doesn't mean there is a historical one.

There needs to be more variety. if historical authenticity is an issue then create variety within the historically authentic weapons then

I must remind again that in the live action trailer for this game, there is a guy wearing lamellar armor who has a 2 handed axe.

yes, please add more items. I've really enjoyed this game, honestly, bugs and all, but it gets a bit stale without having new armor or weapons....ever.

People keep on telling me that scale armor is in the game, what faction, and what is the armor called (This is MP I am talking about).
