The current 5 factions are obviously inspired by major cultures from all over the world during the medieval ages. But there is one distinct major culture missing in the representation. I'd like to see a japanese/korean/chinese inspired faction. There is a lot of culture there. A whole lot of new weaponry and armor could also be added through that faction.

Samurai warriors could be elite infantry and chinese archers, you know aiming with the hand above the head and all that, could be elite archers. They could even have a primitive handgranade, throwing this portion of gunpowder at close range. China used gunpowder in warfare at this time. They also had the multiarrow crossbow as an anti-cavalry weapon, which could be an alternative to the chinese bows for this factions archers. This faction don't need any mounts, mounted soldiers is not a tradition in south-east asia. That is the way of the nomadic "barbarians" in the north which is already represented in the game.

What do you think. A lot to do of course, but maybe in a future expansion or follow up?

i hope you are thinkin wrong. go hell with yur mind.
no asians in europe? NO europians in ASIA!

There are already two non European factions. Khergit Khanate and Sarranid sultanate. In fact, Khergit Khanate are inspired by the mongols. They are asians, who got their hordes into the middle east and east europe... Sarranids could be moors in south Spain. But most likely they are just arabs in general... So why wouldn't the other asians fit into the field of battle? Europe has got history with China to... And I didn't think MnB was a Europe exclusive game. I thought it just aimed to be a medieval warfare game putting the worlds greatest warfare cultures into battle with each other.

Yes, Sarranids represent perhaps 'Arabs in general.' Keep in mind thought that 13th century Europe had had plenty of contact with 'Arabs' and was also being overrun by Mongols. Indubitably some troops, mainly engineers, in the Mongol forces were Chinese, but no actual military contact between China or Japan and Europe of that time happened, and it would therefore look mighty fishy if they'd just be plonked together on one map, especially if you don't váááááástly increase the size of that map and also incorporate multiple Arab and Turkic factions, then some Indian factions, some more Mongols and Indians and even further than that you get your Sino-nipponese faction. And I bloody hope Swadia and that new far Eastern faction don't go to war with eachother while I'm in their armies.

Well of course. If the game is suppose to be from european perspektive, then south-east asian factions are excluded. Although, still it would be historically natural if khergits or sarranids go to war with an south-east asian faction. But it is still historically wrong that nords ever meet khergits in a field of battle. Never happend. It's not historically correct with a feudal system amongst nords at all. But never mind really it's still a fun game...

If this south-east asian faction where situated behind Sarranid and Khergit on the map it could come quite natural after all. Sarranids could represent arabs, but indian warriors as well.

Or you could make two world maps. Between which you travel by a boat you can take in some towns, or follow a caravan from sarranid towns.. And that's how you swap to the other world map. And that way you could add even more factions. With sarranids and khergits in both maps you add another 3 asian factions and have a total of 5 in the other world map as well. What about that suggestion?

If you were to take the Khergits as representing Turkic tribes (very similar in methods of Warfare) and the Nords as Varangians then they DID meet. :P However, Varangians are a bit early for the game, but so is the general equipment the Nords have. :P

Warbands eurasia, not europe.
We've already suggested MULTIPLE factions, theres a HUGE topic about this in KC, and the search bars right there. ^

When I saw the thread title I first thought it was suggesting a new feature that allows you to create your own custom faction troops by picking their equipment for them. But then I read it and saw it was a thread that had been posted numerous times.

Noooo... It's based on Europe from what I've seen and as AwdeW the Khanate represents the Turkish tribes and Europeans came in contact with the Turks and the Sarranids represent the Arabs and the Europeans had loads of contact with them. This is pretty much everything that Frisian said but shorter. :D
