I've search around, even in the technical forums and I haven't been able to find this anywhere clearly... Is there any way to increase the number of troops on the combat map?  Right now, on an even scale there are about 40 vs 40 people with reinforcements arriving when a certain amount are killed at once side, yadda yadda.

I want to try pushing my cpu to it's limits and see if I can handle, say... 100 vs 100 men.
 
I was wondering the same thing.  In the Mod I am working on (not my own) enemies are spawned instead of the game handling troops added from each side.  The thing is, at a certain point there should be about 100 enemies in the scene. 

If you want to test this, you would have to make your own mission_template, then, using spawn_agent, add troops, preferable over time.  One issue I found with this is that if they are not facing their opponents, they just sit there.  I tried using add_visitors_to_current_scene (or something close) but though it works for the melee fights in native, I could not get it to do anything.
