Accuracy and range of thrown weapons

I have a problem with the accuracy and range of the thrown weapons on Good combat AI. The enemies can throw javelins and axes from a hundred meters away and hit a moving target, which isn't very realistic. My suggestion is that you increase the "gravity" for those weapons so they have to be thrown in an arch to reach those distances.

I agree. Generally, the range and accuracy of thrown weapons is absurd. I've had crappy river pirates pummel me with rocks from distances from which it's barely possible to hit a target (especially a moving one!) with a crossbow.

Thrown weapons should start arcing downwards pretty soon. Bows would have considerably greater range, but it should also be possible to shoot with less force to fire high arcs on purpose. Crossbows should shoot in an almost straight line (at least for all practical purposes, since the ranges aren't that great in the combat map).
 
I'm against differing gravity for different objects.

However i also find thrown weapons annoyingly effective.

My suggestion is to:
1. decrease accuracy significantly (wider reticle)
2. decrease initial velocity
3. add drag for missiles

Another thing, if all thrown weapons except javelins were gone, I would not miss them.

Crossbows should shoot in an almost straight line
They do now.
But they should not.
Light crossbows were inaccurate and arched significantly.
 
Crossbows do arc now, but the arc should be more significant. I don't know why you would want crossbows specifically to shoot in a straight line, as bolts follow the same rules of physics as arrows, javelins and rocks.

And yes, thrown weapons are too damn accurate and far reaching.

I'd be fine with the range of rocks if they were hurled with slings, as slings are both powerful and accurate. Don't know why they're not in the game, really, except that it would require additional animation.
 
welllll...... rocks i could care less about cause i can chuck a baseball size rock pretty ****in far and i dont even play base ball, javelins are realistic i believe, if you can t hit a moving target with one from far away then something is wrong with you, but axes....oh my god put more more speed and less range on those mother ****ers , i been hit with one of them from half way across the map by a sea raider. I had some in my bag cause i use thown weapons and i ****in launched that thing and it went far as **** (i mean that it fell to the ground right away). Knives, javelins, arrows, and bolts are all balanced but please balance the axes, after all for speed they are heavy therefor they can pick up far more speed off momentum.
