I havent see any topic about text's. So if anything discussed about it before forgive me. I belive with some background stories and some strong text's for charecters this mod can become one of the best warband modification. i really like it but codunt play it after seen unchanged texts. Anyone working on this? or any news?

This is a big problem, not wanting to make new texts.

So, Ser Knight, shall we get started?

EDIT: Jesus, this actually seems doable! YES!

I'll start with dialogs then.

EDIT2:

What about heroes? We need instructions on how to change their dialogue, obviously.

EDIT3:

All Calradia references removed from dialogs.txt. Yay! As if that was hard.

EDIT3:

Ulrich, check this out:

You said you were planning to include this badboy in your mod, no?

This translates pretty much everything, and I am using this for my current game.

It translates factions names, removes all references to Calradia removed, adds new companion and new claimant stories.

I have a question about this part of character creation
menu_start_character_1|You were born years ago, in a land far away. Your father was...

mno_start_merchant|A travelling merchant.
mno_start_guard|A veteran warrior.

Can I enhance it a little to fit the European setting?

Like, instead of a "troubador" it should be "minstrel"

Instead of "veteran warrior" perhaps "Landlord's soldier" or "Vassal's soldier/guardsman"

Most outlaw/fugitive names changed to suit Western Europe. Around 20 new ones added, Mainly English and Burgundian/French ones, a few German ones, few foreign names and a few comical nicknames. No more outlaws of Praven or Jelkala.

Yes wakes up correctly

Good.

Anyway, all Calradia references are gone, names of fugitives are changed and expanded, all items seem to be named fine, I changed "Sarranid Horse" to Arabian Horse" but that's it. I renamed the capital towns and now I will polish up the character creation screen.

However, I don't know what I should do about companions. Should I just replace the warband companion text with Deis's companions from Dialogue Enhancement V1?

Please answer as soon as possible

EDIT:

I'm also wondering, should I replace for example "Empire Footman" with "Imperial Footman"  Both sound right, so I'm going to rely on your choice here.

Done. I think everything is translated. No references to Calradia  whatsoever. All troop names are now correct.

No more "England swordsman" "Scotch mercenary archer" and for example "Flandrian hard hallaberdier" has been replaced with "Flandrian Heavy Halleberdier" (Yes, that form is also correct, though English and French have Halberdiers instead of Halleberdier)

Also, I've seen you included names of Deis's companions, so I haven't touched companion dialogue whatsoever, nor have I touched any town names besides those in character creation(Now it's "sail to London" instead of sail to "Sargoth").

All in all, It's all done, I'm going to polish up the character creation text and then send the files to you.

EDIT: All words that require capital letters now have capital letters. (mainly troops.)

EDIT 2:

I would like to change the "steppe nomad" to "farmer" or "serf" but I need to change the following text as well, but I can't find it anywhere. To be more precise about what text I'm talking about, I have circled the text, here are the screenshots:

mbwar20120127225853.png

mbwar20120127225859.png

Introductory text changed:

mbwar20120128204010.png

mbwar20120128204015.png

Used your download introduction, slightly adjusted it and fixed all the typos.

Ignore the text in Spanish, that's obviously not in the game. Had to test it somewhere though.

EDIT: One typo present in the first picture has been taken care of.

Great. Though like I've said, everything is done except this text:

mbwar20120127225853.png

mbwar20120127225859.png

I need you to tell me where it is. If you don't know we'll leave it as it is and I'll send you the text right away.

The location of the first image's text is located on lines 425-429 of quick_strings.txt.

The location of the first part of the second image of text is on lines 431-438 in quick_strings.txt, the second part of the image is on line 25 in menus.txt.

Omg, thanks a bunch, though I have realized no big changes need to be made there.

I am thinking of renaming a steppe nomad to a farmer/serf, but if we're aiming for realism, I doubt farmers had any experience in riding(and horse archery while we're at it )

Perhaps mounted skirmisher or mounted scout?. Though I do believe that there were Eurasian nomads that lived in Eastern Europe.

@ Ulrich
Alright I'll get started.
