Hey guys I would like to share my idea regarding factions and lords.
Factions: -they are divided in houses. For example Ned Stark is the king,so the royal or most powerful house is Stark.Lord Roose Bolton is a vassal,so house Bolton is weaker.etc.Every house has
more lords, with kids and wives, castles, and a general area of control
-Every house is loyal to the king's house, but they all have diferent opinions/ambitions/ideas for the future of the kingdom.Say if Ned Stark does something that really displeases Roose
Bolton,House Bolton can rebel against the crown.Other houses can join the rebellion or not.
-Houses all have a different sigil/banner.
-Houses are known for different things. For example House Bolton has really good pikemen. If you recruit soldiers from the Boltons you can get a special troop. Also, say House Mormont are
really good farmers so their villages will have better prosperity.
-Line of succession:The king has brothers, sons and so do the leaders of Houses. When they die,the leader will be the one in logical order(oldest son ->oldest brother etc)
Lords: -Mostly about killing lords:Say you are vassal to the Lannisters which are at war with the Starks. If you kill one of their lords,YOUR relation will decrease drastically(permanently)with the
faction and even more with the House.
-If you kill a Bolton(a vassal) it won't be as bad as if you would kill a Stark. Also,if the lord was renowned, you could be banned from the kingdom.(If there is a rebellion and another
faction/house takes the crown you can be forgiven.depends on the lord).
-The kingdom could try to hire assassins to kill you(you would randomly get stopped while waiting in a city or at night and be attacked).
-You can hire assassins as well.Assassins can keep your anonimity if they are high enough level(they cost A LOT of gold)
-Also hire spies to scout areas or armies.
That's about it.It's just a concept and I'm sure you guys can add upon it.It's not hard to implement and I hope some form of this gets in the game
