Sometimes(near always) i call someone coward. Thats can be because of:
1)You flee from battle
2)You don't want to help your teammates
3)You are mounted archer(Knyaz with bow)
Don't get it seriously if this happens. Also there are brave people:
1)You shout name of your god in chat(ODIN!)
2)You fiercely rush a lot of people alone(better with 1) )
3)You are banner bearer(you really help your team to be brave)
4)You are fighting with dagger or seax without shield
And it would be nice if you add something to these lists and share your feelings.

I mean no offense, but what is the point of this thread. Are you sorry about calling people cowards?

Brave? That's just annoying. And silly. Frey is where it's at, after all.

There is only one Knyaz, and he cant have a shield and a bow at the same time...so its a easy target

He's annoying as ****. Especially with only a few players online.

When there are 6 to a side the Rus can roll with two Boyar and the Kynaz, that can start to get on your nerves when you also have a few weak players on your side. Would like to state though that I wouldn't want his bow removed. Can be a fun experience when the server is a tad more populated.

Knяzь with a bow is the only brave player, everyone else are cowards with shields.
Though archers could be brave too, fierlesly shooting a group of enemies alone and then bravely tactically retreating, what can be moar brave?
Those are the only men in da game.

Seriously though I have seen only one man taking out a swordsman and 2h axe carrier with his bare hands, noone can beat that! (And he has stylish mostache, thats like +100 to manlyness)

Cowards & cowardice. Hmm. Subjective really, as it's a computer game and it's not often that true emotions will affect how you play with regards to keeping your avatar alive.

1)You flee from battle
Personally I term it as griefing. If you're the last one left & are running away then you're 'griefing' other players, those who have already died, by prolonging the match until they can play again. This includes hiding purposefully in a bush or at the base of one of the big trees forcing the other team to search for you.

2)You don't want to help your teammates
Not really cowardice more lacking in team spirit. Sometimes some players, and this includes myself, like to rush off around a flank to assault or act as skirmishers, hitting & running. I sometimes can't stand fighting with others because I'm either having a poor day of it (and don't want them to suffer because of it) or I just -really- want to play on my own and not have to take other players into consideration when swinging my weapons about. However if you mean those whom you rescue from a dangerous situation, such as them being under attack from a more skilled player, and they run off leaving you in a dangerous situation, I just find that to be poor team play.

3)You are mounted archer(Knyaz with bow)
Not really cowardice, can't blame someone for using a unit to its best abilities. HOWEVER! The Knyaz is in need of rebalancing. If you don't have half-skilled archers who are used to Vikingr's archery & how much you have to lead by then he can be untouchable, especially with how accurate he is on horseback. He may 'only' carry 13 arrows but each one -can- kill in one hit if he head shots and some players ride up, halt, headshot, ride off out of melee range. It's a tricky one especially, as has been mentioned, when the server is quiet.

Now, bravery. My thoughts are similar to brave as they are for 'cowardice' in this game. There are some things I do consider to be 'brave', such as charging/holding up several opponents allowing others to escape, being the last left and charging straight in with no fear of being killed (probably because they'll be dead anyway).

1)You shout name of your god in chat(ODIN!)
Not really bravery, just chat spamming.

2)You fiercely rush a lot of people alone(better with 1) )
See above. However whilst it is incredibly stupid if you do go for it then thumbs up.

3)You are banner bearer(you really help your team to be brave)
Banner bearer can still block. If blocking were removed from banners & they were dropped the instant you changed weapons then yes, banner bearers would be brave.

And it would be nice if you add something to these lists and share your feelings.

Alright, I'll just make a note here about honour.

I've had complaints from people when they're the last one left & are trying to 'duel'. I have an unwritten rule for the Lewes Fyrd - we don't duel (unless you -really- want to). I expect no quarter & give none. Yet people have accused me repeatedly of being a 'coward' or 'dishonourable' for interrupting duels. I'm sorry chaps but Battle is not Duel, war is not 'honourable', fights are won by those who are the fastest, most violent & who have the greater numbers (normally) and the will to use them. I see no sense in throwing away an advantage in numbers just for a poor concept such as 'honour'.

Thats all.

There are only two kinds of Vikingr players. Cowards and Moeckerkalfie.

This is truer than anyone knows. Moecker is a man who will chamber your Long Hedsmark with his fists. He'll duel you with a saex & chamber you all the way. He'll take people on with the Long Spear, which can't parry, and win. Admittedly he does have moments where he gets torn apart, quite often actually, but for shear balls he is the Champion of Vikingr. This poster should explain it;

'Helping' teammates often ends up in me getting killed,

As a archer, i generally help people, i've saved people countless of times by shooting a backstabber who a teammate was unaware of, or shot someone in their side so a teammate can finish them off. I've had it often enough however that teammates simply let a archer die who helped  them, when i run into YOUR fight to help YOU, it'd be nice if you would help me, and yourself kill the enemy, Not run away and egage someone else and leave me to deal with the mess i just pulled you out. If you want help from teammates, you better help them aswell.

As for cowardice, dont expect a archer to shoot into a group of 10 enemies, then draw his axe and bravely charge towards his death if his odds are better if he takes a walk, so to speak. Though i agree swordsmen & Beserkers running all over the map to advoid any combat should be a offense punishable by death by Odin.

I agree this is most dissapointing when it happens. Also people who fall back on approaching enemies while I'm standing behind them. This gets me into direct danger and thus being unable to help you! You're the one with a shield and good melee weapon, not me, the archer!

That's where the archers come in and shoot them

OK, it seems, that people just don't play for fun sometimes, but just for win.
1)You shout name of your god in chat(ODIN!)
Do you think that is chat-spamming? Even if it is one time per round or maybe more seldom? Of course chat-spamming is not acceptable.
Added brave point:
4)You are fighting with dagger or seax without shield

Sometimes winning is where the fun is, it's overcoming the odds as a team and succeeding. You don't have to win to have fun though, for example see myself & Moecker running around like a pair of lunatics armed with long spears & saex's, but it generally helps...in general. It's just that notions of 'bravery' or 'cowardice' are redundant within a computer game unless it is so immersive that you find yourself reacting physically to whats on the screen.

As for 'chat spam'. I have seen it quite a number of times where someone will spam 'For Odin' or 'For Thor' or just 'ODDDDDDIIIIIINNNNNNNN!' repeatedly. 'Shouting' the name of a God is not a symbol of bravery, it's a cry for that 'God' to look favorably upon that person. If I were a God I'd probably find it quite tiring to have people shouting my name all the time - after all as a God I'm sure I'd remember my name...

Lastly your final addition, about running around without a shield & only use a saex/dagger, well this I can only hope people try and do more of - I do it and it's great fun. Once killed three armoured men in a melee armed solely with a saex & small shield. People underestimate it and when you have someone like Mockerkalfie who can just chamber your attacks and rip you apart with the saex...it's quite a scary weapon. We love the saex in the Fyrd of Lewes. Not quite as much as we love spears, mind, but we do love 'em.

Get out of here troll!

We all know the mighty... ShieldLings_Jarl_TK is the most awesome one, we also got Einharhar_Jarl_T and my favorite Einherjar_Jarl_T.

That is the 3 most awesome people in vikingr, I thought you knew that harkon!

You got me wrong: I meant that sometimes players play only for win, instead of playing for fun and probably win. And about 'bravery' or 'cowardice' - it's just my RP in Vikingr
