About companions being taken prisoner (my companions now deleted from the game)

There are threads on this but they had other topics as well.

Anyway. I got all my companions captured in Praven. I can't break them free (utterly chanceless vs like 8 guards of which two are heavily armoured (I only get into that town in cloak and with the stick), and they never espace themselves.

Then I help the Nord's take Praven and my companions disappear. They're not on the list anymore when I ask a traveller. Five minutes after this I see the 1.10 version is out and install it, but that doesn't fix anything.

I'm screwed? They're gone from the game? If so I have to restart what was an awesome game with lots of funny/cool things going on. After 203 days at level 21....

Anyone know if I could tweak this myself? Like if it's possible to change companions' locations or something in order to get them back in the game.

There was one time when I had just started the game and my brigade of just Rolf and I lost to a bandit Party. He did not appear in the traveller's list and was no where to be found for a few weeks. After a few weeks of picking up other companions, his name finally reappeared in the traveller's list by chance. Maybe you just gotta look around or wait a little

His experience level and skillpoints were as they should?

If so great. I'll just have to wait and see. They used to be on the traveller's list and he said they were in Praven's dungeon. Now they're just gone but that seems to be just what happened to you as well.

If their experience level and skillpoints aren't intact that'd suck. But what can you do.
