I will probably always be in support of non-warrior/lord type content for Bannerlord and this is no exception. Merchants, especially exceedingly wealthy ones, has a very large amount of control over the market and generally 'fight' their battles by crushing their enemies with their overwhelming wealth. So manipulating lords, and by extension kingdoms, to do my bidding is certainly enticing.
Who's to say a merchant can't help a kingdom by bankrupting its enemies?, not me.
What would happen if I bought out all the blacksmiths then enticed a kingdom to go to war, soldiers needs both food and armament, and those armanents need to come from somewhere so why not your local blacksmith with a %300 markup, don't like it?, too bad I literally own all the blacksmiths now pay up.

Its probably part of that mid-late game stuff that they still need to do. I dont know how in depth itll be but it will be nice to be able to play as a Little Finger thpe of character.
Little Finger?, I'd prefer to be a Lannister-type, especially Tywin, (minus any Lannister whose name does not being with "Ty", no seriously the only good/not-horrible Lannisters are Tytos, Tywin, and Tyrion) Little Finger's manipulative abilities lies more through his spy network, deception, and blackmail rather than economic manipulative. Little Finger's bank account is near empty by comparison to the ridiculous amount the Lannister amassed. Also Tywin is apparently a really good businessman, as he alone is responsible for all that wealth. You have got to respect that.
Sorry about the tangent, I saw GoT reference, I made GoT reference.
Back to the topic at hand: the ability to use wealth to influence lord's decision is something I can get behind and would make building a economic empire much more viable as a whole as I feel a lot of the game will be based around the actions of the nobility.
