A couple of days ago, I happaned to end up playing Dawn of War again giving me the thought of "What if in Mount&Blade, you could be able to put designs and such on your armor to make it unique and personalized to be yours???" I thought of this idea for quite a time now, but I kept forgetting to post it until now...

I was thinking it would be interesting too if you could make your armor gold or of that nature since most knights used to do that to be identified by who they are by the looks of their armor... If its not a tabard on it, than its the engravery or the color of the metal the knight is wearing... Another thought was cloaks too since I don't feel as much as a knight without a nice looking cloak to wear while in battle also...

Another idea I had in mind was more improvements with the attacks you could do and such since the ones currently implemented seem really basic, I had an idea of the ability of doing more advanced moves so I would feel like a real Chaos Knight that can kill 1000000s of troops mercilessly without having to press the left button just to slash left ><.

My only problem with this idea would most likely be is it may have to end up being in 3rd person unless people are experienced enough to do the combo moves while in FP mode, knowing which attack their doing and such... If you have any ideas to add feel free to add them onto my ideas >< I think the armor idea may end up under the idea another person had with the tabards and banners, but this was worth a shot... Thank You For Your Time...

Pretty neat idea
And just to add to that :say if you wanted a trim you could go to a smith and pay acordingly to what colour you want (say gold is the most expensive) and also you could do the same with weapon handles and sheaths
wouldn't that be cool?

And to sushiman : boddude i think wants his thing IN-game and not having to hack into mount&blade because sometimes rich people back in those good old days did get their armour decorated

the trimmed sounds good but the warpaint.. i don't know. Its obvious that you can't just take a paintbrush and paint on plate since it won't really go "In" the plate (engraving). and if it doesn't engrave (so it just sits on the surface of the armour) it can be scratched of by a axe or any other object it approaches.

well maybe the nords wear the warpaint but the more civilised should have their armour custimized

but with the cloaks I think it would be real hard to install (this just ipplies for capes and overcoats) because to make them flap around and bounce up and down (when at full gallop on a horse) you would have to redo the gravity affects and also new physics program like physX by Nvidia but i don't think that would work on M&B

Custom Settlements has cloaks/hoods that work quite well, apart from clipping issues with weapons on your back

Cloaks are a horrible thing to be wearing in any combat situation. You'll either trip over it, get something caught in it, or the enemy will grab it. Either way, you're in a pretty ****ty position and will most likely die. Just because Frodogorn is wearing one doesn't mean you should be.

Original poster: You aren't a Chaos knight. Sorry mate. Combo moves have definitely been suggested before, but the only context-based attacks I can think of that would be usefull are counter-attacks after a successful block. As for heraldry, tabards and such are in the game, but I would like to see some more rag-tag art. Mountain bandits would probably wear paint or some such thing, as many warrior-societies and cultures (not saying they're structured that much) used war-paint as a psychological tool, to boost their morale and lower their enemy's. As for lords using it on their armor? No thanks, that's what the tabards are for. If you're rich enough to afford armor and be considered a land-holding lord (as you are when you gain your own heraldry) then you're rich enough to get a piece of cloth to put on over your armor.

i Support the idea that the engraving armors shoulb be in the game but i think that they should be very expensive as well so only lords and kings and yourself of course  can allow buying one ,for it would be weird if some Looters wear fancy armor

For Cloaks they should be used in battles but in tournaments  i think they will make a fine addition.
