Chapter 10: Things did not go as planned
July 8. 1257
In the last month I had fought only 2 battles against the nords, I won one. I feel disappointed over my efforts in the war. We lost Ismirala Castle, and after that King Yaroglek felt that the Nords would overpower us. We could've fought more, and I feel that King Yaroglek did a bad decision. There was a lot back and forth with the castle, there were many sieges, but the Nords ended up controlling it.
I'm back to trading and bandit hunting again. I'm also helping the poor farmers to keep the wheels of the kingdom running. Without farmers we wouldn't have food, and it's a pity that many lords think that farmers are only useless money suckers. In exchange for helping the farmers, I get more volunteers. It's a very good thing.
My horse died a few weeks ago. The poor old horse. It wasn't even bred to fight, it was a carrier horse. It died from a lance which impaled it completely. It died instantly, and didn't die in pain. So, I bought a steppe charger. It is a great horse, and I hope we will become good friends.
Firentis and Jeremus have increased a lot in skill. Jeremus is a great surgeon, and Firentis is a great fighter. They have shown their valor to me and the kingdom, and I will try to get them knighted sometime.
Firentis is a good fighter.
Jeremus is showing his valor by being a great surgeon.
Warriv has raised an army again.
Warriv is becoming a great warrior.
His cavalry is getting ready for a charge against the Nord army.
The Vaegir army is going to take back Ismirala castle.
