Archers, cavalry and all specialist classes are heavily restricted. At eight players per team, I believe there should have been one archer.

Keep an eye on the forum for the relaunching of the Sulcoit event. I am sure it will come very soon, t'would be a great time to get your friends in! Just be sure that they understand the nature of Vikingr. Teamwork, spears and lots of beer.

I was a spear hater before, as I found them boring, but when I was playing Siege the other day, defending the 2 level fort, when we were in the very last ramp bordered with spikes, slowly backpeddling upwards towards the flag, bashing away as the more numerous attackers pressed on us, I felt a great deal of intensity, fun and immersion carefully performing pokes with my spear at the most vulnerable men, causing sure wounds and killing quite a few while others held them at bay with their axe and shield.

I never found a use for spears. Before we were playing lot's of 8vs8 and you wanted a nice axe or sword.
But now with these bigger battles I absolutly LOVE spears. I was never a killer, much more the person who would show up if you are fighting 1vs3 (or I would like to think so). The spear in bigger battles is just great, lots of confusion and oppertunity for a bloke hiding behind the chaos. And the best part: it really helps people fighting up close!

me too, i used too rage when i got killed with spears but now i use them from time too time, very effective.
We used to love the spear in the Fyrd, oh yes. Still do of course but the amount of times I'm backing a friendly up with a spear then he decides to run away and leave me fighting two chaps is a bit of a kick in the teeth!
