Also, 'twould be very nice to have the sky cells for a prison in the Eyrie
But we should think of such small details later on.

Hahaha !! I tought the same thing exactly about the sky cells, a hole in the wall basically with view in the cells, when i imagined the castle for the scene. For the exterior scene it's gonna be pretty easy (i think), it's more for the prison scene that's gonna be more challenging.

And yes i made already a "plan" for designing, starting to make a mountain-like environnement, i made some tests it should'nt be that hard, with a biiiiiiig stair to go up the mountain  And btw i don't think the castle itself is that small neither, cuz it has many towers etc if i remember the description right. i'll read the book again for this, to be more accurate. I'll try to put some pics in next few days...

The castle is not small, but it is much smaller than some other castles like Winterfell or Harrenhal. Keep up the good work

Hi,

I'm just starting modding on MB, I will try to help on this one. I'm a French python programmer, hope it will help in some ways. For the moment I will spend some time discoreing the tools and how to make some changes, but if you want me to work on something special, do not hesitate to tell me. I have no skills in moddeling, I don't want to improve in this, so don't ask me about that.

Best,

Zul.

Thank you very much for the offer. What we would need that is related to python modding (at least I think it is ) is changing all the mentions of Calradia to Westeros or Seven kingdoms and all mentions of Denar to Stag. Also, editing of conversations to fit the ASoIaF universe would be very helpful. I tried to do both of these things and screwed some stuff up

Hey zuzul !

Just to add to what our comrade said, i guess all that is about adding scripts (existing ones from other modders, or new ones when you'll get a hold of this) to the native version is python related, compiling, debug...etc. Still we need to define which are the ones we want to use ? Maybe you already talked about this in another thread ?

Hi all and thank you for the welcome !
Well...I'm currently checking the scripting part, and I think I will be able soon to integrate the sea travel. There are still some bugs inside the current Asoif version, so debugging should be a priority (I guess). I haven't yet done anything regarding Warband, but I'm an old modder of Neverwinter Nights, i hope this experience can help me to find quick answers.
if you want some special scripts, of maybe specific quests, just ask me. And give me some time, 'cause i'm doing this out of my job time . And yes beuse, you're right, tell me what you want, I will find a way to put it inside !

best,

Zul.

Nope sorry, i'm trying to sort out some prob with Warband. I'm try to understand how a castle is structured completly, Ai mesh, entry points, passages etc to use them again (or not), but my game is crashing very very often in edit mode  kind of annoying and i don't understand why...

Anyway i understood at last how to have the non-playable background i want among other things, and starting the castle now so i'll stay in touch for screens (maybe some preview today, depending on the time i have). GL for the Rock !

The game has a tendency to be buggy and slow in edit mode. Annoying as hell 'cause my paranoia forces me to save every 5 minutes .

Exactly, i'm doing the same now cuz it's frustrating to loose everything.

I've put a screenshot of the Eyries there if you want to have a look : http://mbx.streetofeyes.com/index.php/topic,2224.0.html
I'm open to any suggestions, if something feels not right. And I didn't find any way to do the sky cells yet...

It looks very good, but I think those hills with the mill should be made somewhat smaller to make the castle itself seem taller. Otherwise, the positioning and the look of the castle is surprisingly similar to how I imagined it when I was reading about it. Great work!

Thanks  but i agree for the small hill with the windmill, i'll adjust this. For the rest, Martins made precise castle descriptions for us, he's clearly working with movies for something ! I've posted some more, face shots with the stair, with strange trees  btw , i don't really like these textures, but i don't know how to make new ones (probably a looong work for this), so it will do for now.

I still have to test the scene to see how AI is behaving. And there are some surprises for the player too, references from the books... But still no sky cells

Nice one for the Bloody Gate also, very nice !

And also, make the part of the scene where the castle itself is snowy (so that Sansa can make Winterfell in the snow with Littlefinger )

The textures aren't very nice, polished landscapes adds some nicer ones, but they sometimes seem too dark, and always look like a shade of brown. Also, installing PL on the module where your scene is would screw up the landscape.

you want snow on the buildings for the Eyrie ? I hesitated at first about this, cuz the initaldescriptions (of the book) don't mention snow i think, but then with Littlefinger yes it's snowing... sooo i made some snow at the top of the mountains for now  I can use more.

Snow is a tricky part, because, as I remember, there always was some snow on the top of the Eyrie, but during winter there is so much snow that the castle itself becomes unreachable. And the beginning of the mod is (I suppose) at the time when the North "seceded" and Ned was executed. So the descriptions from the Catelyn and Tyrion POVs in AGOT should be the most accurate ones.
