A small Inventory space trick for merchant characters

Hi folks, just thought I'd share this small trick to help out merchants with Inventory Management. Most of you probably have figured this one out on your own, but might as well post it if anyone hasn't.

If you've opened a business in various towns (ironworks, dyeworks, brewery, what-have-you), you can take advantage of the business' storerooms to make room in your inventory for any local bargains you've come across.

It's often happened to me that even with a decent Inventory Management skill (4+) I run out of space, particularly when faced with a situation like Dayve describes here: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,128121.0.html. In this case, your inventory is chock full of Spice and Salt bought for super cheap at Tulga, only to discover that Ahmerrad is selling Iron at a huge bargain, but you don't have room for everything. It also doesn't help if you've got a bunch of scavenged gear from bandits clogging up your inventory.

For instance, after arriving in Ahmerrad (where you operate, for example, an ironworks), you discover Iron is super cheap, but even after selling off a few bags of Spice you still don't have room for half the cheap iron that's available for sale. Just pop down to your ironworks, stick a bunch of Spice and Salt in the smith's inventory, and go buy all the cheap iron you can carry. You can then leave and pick up your tradegoods on the next trip through town. You can also switch out the Spice for the Iron in the smith's inventory, and get a nice profit at the end of the week since the Smith will use the cheap iron you purchased instead of buying new stock.

Since when purely trading I also try to run quests for guildmasters in each town I visit (to improve relations and therefore my profits), it sometimes happens I get a quest that needs speed, such as finding some outlaws. In this case I'll use the smith's inventory to store any tradegoods that slow me down, go catch the outlaws, then come back and pick up my stuff again.

I've even used them for weapons. After getting a "capture the spy" quest from a local lord, I've picked up a bunch of blunt weapons for my companions at the Weapons Dealer, captured the spy, then stored the various clubs, hammers, mauls, etc. with my local business in case I ever get a spy quest in that town again. I've also stored siege weapons there.

Basically it's like having a "chest", such are found in castles, but in all the towns you operate businesses in.

Nice one.

It wouldn't have worked for me a few weeks ago, as I tried the "let's resupply!" minigame with shops, but I found it to be a waste of time and money for all but a couple products. This will make that inventory space useful again.
