A quick question about Gothic Armour.

Would they be used for kicking peasants in the face, couched boot damage or just decoration? This probably isn't a very interesting topic but I'm quite curious about this, it puzzles me.  :lol:

The bizarre pointed sabatons had their origin in a peculiar whim of fashion of the period. As they were only meant to be worn on horseback, the points could be removed when the rider wished to go on foot.
 
I bet a kick in the balls would have hurt the enemy. Surely a revolutionary tactic of the era!
