I don't see that there would be a problem though, so long as the standard protection remains intact.
There was a change in file mount&blade.exe between versions (1.0 and 1.003). So if this file was taken from official release and used to overwrite the file in folder of press-release version (along with other changed files) - is there some kind of damage to protection system?
No, the press copy had the same protection built into it. Reviewers were just directed to ask for a registration key from Paradox. So again, doesn't seem like a problem to me.
Language.txt was modified on the 15th, font data on the 16th. Can't tell if anything was altered in the native module itself since the files are generated on install IIRC.
