A question for the TW Staff

At a bare minimum we should have had the most popular mechanics that were used in nearly every mod like diplomacy, freelancer etc.
Has anyone made a list of the mod mechanics that are generally agreed upon as the most popular? Say, the top 5 or so?

If I had to guess it would be Diplomacy, Freelancer, Custom Troops, that village investments one (which already has a bannerlord mod equivalent) and maybe PBOD.
They aren't fresh in my mind, maybe there should be a poll thread.

Another completely useless answer to a valid thread.

Maybe TW should just add a new forum section where people are allowed to complain and critizse the game without the white knights coming in?

Then you have your happy world where everybody loves the game and we have our place where we can discuss the things that don´t work, are missing or that we just don´t like at all?

Win/Win!
You're free to spew your hate all over the forum, but you don't want others to have an opposing opinion?

It just stuns me that we have not gotten any of those when TW knows good and well what content was most wanted.

That might be a good idea. I feel like if people want these mechanics to come to Bannerlord they ought to make a short list and nail down the specifics within these mods. "Most popular" is a vague term that doesn't really indicate anything. What's important to one person might not be to another, and since there are only 8 programmers working on the campaign at Taleworlds, I don't think these long lists of every missing feature found in Warband mods are really that helpful.

Y'know, I'd quite like a section specifically for constructive whinging  I don't often but can't hold it in any more, so here goes, sorry to anyone who reads it!.....

I have loved (SP) warband for many years, and have tried very very hard to love bannerlord too, but I have to wonder what they've been doing for the last 10 years - aside from commercialise a couple of warband mods. I can't believe they've spent much of it playing Warband

It doesn't "move things along" at all from the original experience 10 years ago. Compared with what modders achieved in WB, the additions are quite paltry - and pretty broken. The new stuff in BL pales into insignificance compared to say, Brytenwalda. That's a point, why haven't we got boats in BL?

As others have said I'm surprised - shocked even - that they didn't do the obvious - plagiarise the hell out of all the popular mods for WB, like diplomacy, adding width and depth and flavour, and run with it - building the base level up at least to modded WB standards. The family things a great idea (if fairly obvious), but it's very barebones, and quite broken - doesn't fit the game timing really - and about the only addition I can think of off the top of my head?

I'll still play it of course. Eventually, most of the holes will be patched up I'm sure, then hopefully the modders will settle in and make it into a worthy replacement for warband - if not the game it could have been. I really hope taleworlds do their darnedest to support those modders, letting others pick up the baton!

I guess there's always the shinier graphics! Looks great - but then so did "war of the roses" in 2012.

No you can love the game, that´s fine. I don´t reply to anyone who says "I enjoy this game". It´s fine if there are still guys enjoying this game.

Also I don´t personally insult people.

That´s the difference. But I guess you don´t understand this difference.

Of course you do, just own it. You're not fooling anyone.

You call everyone fanboys and insult TW in nearly every post you make, all in the guise of 'I'm just here to check game updates'. I find it comical, but sad at the time.

And I don´t call everyone fanboy....and my "insults" are legit...see what the last hotfix did to a lot of players...

But you, as a white knight, will never understand this

And you my sir, are a fanboy. You know what they called me? They even insulted my mother...guys like you...

But anyways, the upkeep for your T4/T5 troops was decreased, so have fun playing! That´s a game changer!

As in those features are either in Bannerlord elsewhere or not required... there are no warband mechanics tied to camping that actually required that function.

Everyone else understood that concept... I literally spoke about book reading one sentence above...

Now stop derailing.
You heal faster, read books, and it doesn't cost like towns do. Although if you've wanted a fast paced action rpg then you might not have even realized these.

Lol is that true?! Does it at least effect steward skill gain to have a variety of food?

Yes.

Has anyone made a list of the mod mechanics that are generally agreed upon as the most popular? Say, the top 5 or so?

Diplomacy/Dickplomacy (not kidding) was by far the most popular; virtually every overhaul or total conversion integrated it in some form. But... most of the basic Diplomacy features are already on the slate for inclusion.

..... that's still just waiting. There's perks in Bannerlord which make you heal faster while immobile. Stop pretending camping was anything but just waiting on the campaign map; its functionally the same. There is nothing it achieved which isn't just standing still for a time period. It had no actual functions tied to it which made it anything except not moving on the map.

If they added books to bannerlord they don't need to add a camping mechanic (because it's already in the game - by just not clicking anywhere).

Is TaleWorlds satisfied with how the game is right now?
Or are you guys not really happy with it?

Overall the game is heading in the direction we want it to and we are certainly pleased to be in the early access stage where players can see the progress we are making with each patch. However, we are aware that there is a lot of content, such as scenes, that are still missing and some performance issues that need ironing out, so we will continue to keep our heads down and work hard to deliver a great game.

TL;DR: Overall happy, but aware that there's plenty of room for improvement.

What are systems that you guys thougt would work better and get accepted by the community with more open arms than they actually did? And what systems came out better than planned?

Probably best left to one of the game developers to answer this.

Are any developer AMA's planned for the near future?

We have no plans to do anything like this in the near future.

Do the developers follow the suggestions thread?
Are any of the suggestions planned to be implemented into the game? (This one in particular because you guys seem to stay on your track)

Yes, and yes. Some already made their way into the game (e.g. conversation screen on the world map), and some will be coming in future patches (I won't spoil those though!).

Thanks for replying aswell Callum. Too sad that there won't be an AMA

Uh.... so when you think of missing content, scenes is the first thing that comes to mind? Wow. Of all the missing/desired content, scenes is at the bottom of that list.

I can't help but think this is another unintentional reveal, akin to when you described Bannerlord as "a fast paced action RPG with a sprinkling of strategy"

My hope for the games development continues to dwindle.

Speak for yourself; scenes are very important and are one of the biggest obvious placeholders. It's very important they get worked on. Besides it was just an example. Reading your messages it's clear you are very angry about the status of EA. I recommend you take a break from the forum/game and come back and see it in a years time.

Is it really absurd to expect a game to improve upon previous iterations? This title should have been a lot more impressive than some hacked together warband mods from many years ago made by mostly amateurs. At a bare minimum we should have had the most popular mechanics that were used in nearly every mod like diplomacy, freelancer etc.
I think what you and others are trying to say is that when its finished, you would like it to be more impressive then warband. I agree, but don't judge a unfinished product as if it is finished. That's the whole point im trying to make.

Armagan please don't tell me these are the only priorities the developers are working on

This brings me to my point : Why are people like you distracting them from what they're supposed to do with the same type of questions and giving them a hard time?
The OP specifically named Callum, it is his job to communicate with the forum and thus should not be a distraction for him to answer these types of questions.
