A positive thread!

I’m excited for the game well enough, but I’m even more excited for the modding potential. Can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on the modding tools!

I have found myself feeling a bit worn down by all the negativity on the the board, but I do love seeing all the awesome discussion, when it rolls around. Let's post some positive things that we are excited about when it comes to Bannerlord! Get some good vibes flowing. To start I am really excited since there really hasnt been another game that captures a combination of real time strategy and combat. Plus the skill based multiplayer is pretty hard to top.

Weapon crafting is a big one for me,among other things.Better, more fluid combat and movement, paired with great animations, the Sturgians faction which I like a lot,and can't wait to see what are they like etc.
Plenty of stuff to be excited about with this game, over all i feel like it's like a general upgrade to Warband, since warband was pretty solid, and this is like a upgraded and polished version of that..

I’m especially looking forward to massive battles, the sergeant system, branching quests, the barter system, clans, crafting and Bannerlord’s modding potential.

Oops, and riding camels...sorry Humpfrey.  Multiple mount skeletons is a major improvement over Warband.

In the late 90s, I was playing the pen and paper RPG "Pendragon". It is unique in that it was designed to span a very long in-game time (the entire Arthurian Saga and then some), and had mechanics for families, ageing, having and raising children and continuing the campaign as your heir. You were also supposed to play as a knight, and receiving and managing fiefs and advancing in the feudal system was also part of the game. (Starting to sound familiar?) Finally, it was about virtues, vices and passions, and the personalities of the characters mattered as much as their combat skills.

Since then, when playing video game RPGs, I have always longed for a game that would feature just that. A long-term campaign that lets you feel the passage of time, and allows you to build not just a character, but his social, economic and political environment as well. Mount & Blade had some of that already and I have loved it ever since I laid eyes on it. Bannerlord however seems to make my wish come true in every detail. It is quite literally my dream game, and in about 25 years of gaming I have never been more excited for a game.

Much time has passed during the existence of the Mount Blade series.  Not only my friends and I have changed, but the whole world around us, along with the circumstances surrounding us.  Now everyone has a job.  Some have family.  We all have a lot of worries, and despite the fact that many of us do not live in one city or even a country, we still remain friends and never forget about each other.  After all, we are united Mount and Blade.  Even now we sometimes gather in voice chat in the evening, launch Mount Blade Warband multiplayer and forget about the problems that haunt us in life.  Some no longer enter as they are tired of the warband.  And we have very high hopes for Banerlord, thanks to him we will be back again in full force.  Unfortunately, people playing single player do not understand us.  They do not know what it is, when you 20-30 people who know each other for 7 years gather in a wall of shields and go into battle together.  This is an unforgettable feeling and it is impossible to survive this in any game.  It is very breathtaking.  I hope people of the single player category will discover Mount Blade once again in a new way.

Apart from exploring the new stuff in the single player campaign and trying my hand at learning to PvP (duel mode looks best for my tastes), I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into the scene editor that they showcased (ages ago now!). It looks pretty intuitive to use, and I'm hopeful that I can recreate the landscape around an iron-age hill fort that's near where I live using Battanian-style game assets, and fight massive bloody battles in the places where I walk my dog every day!

As someone who has played very little MP, I am excited to get into BL's MP on the ground floor. When I finally it around to trying MP, I felt... Useless to my team. Didn't know the maps, play styles, and I wasn't very good at coordinating with the team. I realize this all takes time and effort, but WB eventually became a little too closed, imo, for growing newer players to the "standard" ability, but I think BL will be just different enough that I'll be able to get into it and have more fun.

This sounds like an awesome idea, I hope if you manage it you can share your map. I'd love to play Romans/Britons in a truly historical map.

Unfortunately in Warband there were only players who fight very well.  It is rare to meet newbies, this is a problem for those who want to start playing.  But each fight reminds Dark Souls

Tbh, I enjoyed the difficulty. It was more of, when I did **** up (tbh, happened a fair amount), no one tried to help me learn, but gave me **** for not knowing in the first place. Losing a fight makes me want to get better, but losing a fight and getting **** from both teams makes me not want o be around the community.

Everyone needs to find their place.  To be honest, sad when because of the game people start talking bad about you.

I havent run into that myself but knowing the online video game community in general I am sure it happens. Bannerlord should be an awesome chance to get in there with all of the new recruits and crush some skulls!

To be honest, it's beyond over hyped at this point and will probably leave players expectations feeling unfulfilled.

I've been lurking on these forums for many moons but have ignored BL details so I wont be over hyped or let down.  Just ready for a new M&B!

Smart guy.
I did the same until recently. Following a game's development is a waste of time as you inevitably get too hyped to enjoy the actual game in its released state. It ruins the game for you because of your expectations and personal preconceptions.
If you look at game threads about Elder Scrolls and Fallout games, you'll find plenty of jaded people bashing perfectly fine games for minor or imaginary faults. People are unwise.

This. So much of this.

Hype culture is toxic, financially unwise, and turns what should be a thing of joy into a product of misery.

Look up a game called "Interstellar Marines" some time. And you'll see an example of what happens when too much is promised for too long.

Perhaps TaleWorlds should take some notes on CDProjekt and learn how they manage their hype for Cyberpunk. Release a teaser once every 2 years, and the hype is manageable enough as it seems.

They were exactly doing this . Then bannerlord community lost their minds and wanted to drink from skull of Captain Lust. After that Callum came with his nice head on his shoulders and blessed us with his mighty, tasty, weekly devblogs. And im fine with geting devblogs till HARVESTING SEASO... ahem i mean Bannerlord release.

I think the dev blogs are a great addition and are really better than what we had before, which was not a lot lol. I think the hype is well under control. It just doesnt quite seem that way since there is a lot of negativity around hype and release on the forums.

Honestly, I feel like hype is pretty much dead. Dev blogs are getting less and less interesting and all this wait sort of drove many fans from actually dedicating any attention towards the game (till it's released, at least). There's not much left to speculate... it seems as if all possible features are either confirmed and discussed to death or completely cut off from the final game.

Just a personal view here, of course.
