My vote goes to Warrider... if I'm rather tempted to vote for Way of the Sword... but mostly because it's one of my favorite books (By H.L. Oldie :)).

"Mount&Blade", being the name chosen by the makers, is the "best". For a reason of respect towards the makers, if not for anything else.

For the "second" name... well... my vote would be for... "De rerum pugna: Regnum Tenebrarum"

Wich, translated from latin, would sound like "About the war: the reign of darkness"

I doubt it would have much success as a game title, though :)

Mount & Blade isn't bad, but when you're trying to tell someone about the game irl it always comes off sounding like "mountain blade", which is pretty cheesy. Going for Warrider.

Edit: I didn't choose Way of the Sword because it sounds a lot like Die by the Sword, which is another game entirely. Plus Way of the Sword sounds like a ninja game for some reason.

I agree with you there.. But I kinda liked the name Mount & Blade

Warrider.
As I said in the other topic, its simply sexier than 'Mount and Blade', which brings to mind horrible images of Medieval bondage.

I missed the poll, but I'd go for Warrider! I don't think it sounds cheesy or like a bad metal band. On the contrary, it's short and really brings out the best element in M&B: horses.

Bigwig, curiously enough you said just the things I was going to say - almost with the same words. Mount&Blade always sounds like Mountain Blade and I have to explain that there's the "et" symbol. Also, it looks curiously "modern" in its current form. And indeed, "Way of the Sword" = Kendo.

I think Mount and Blade is a much cooler sounding name. It also best sums up the type of RPG it is (no magic) and should be the final name =)

I like Mount&Blade, because it's so odd.

Not in a bad way, but it sticks out from the crowd of cheesy, boring RPG names like "Crusader", "Knight Warrior", "Hero of the Blade". (All are just examples)

That, and it points to horse riding, which is one of the main factors of this game and probably the feature that'd get the most attention in a review.

I just love the name Mount and Blade for some reason. It's hard to describe.. probably due to the obscurity as mentioned above.

I think Mount & Blade is a pretty bad name, all told - I prefer the previous 'Warrider' to it, but even so there's more that could be done. Way of the Sword doesn't fit, because it sounds too heroic and Oriental-revenge-story-ish. The game needs to appeal at first hearing of the name, so a better name is needed, definitely.

Mount & Blade is a decent name. And if it's what the creator wanted, then that's what it should be.

Though honestly, overall I prefer the sound of Warrider.

Mount & Blade is good. Unless theres something else that fits with the story when thats done, why fix what ain't broke?

I like Mount & Blade (though I'd prefer it with an 'and' rather than '&'). It works as nouns or as verbs.

Warrider looks more like a lawyer's name (pronounced like half of Warren and half of Derrida), and splitting it to War Rider makes it seem much more cheesy and cliche than Mount & Blade.

It's a shame "Blade and Mount" doesn't ring half as nicely, since that would remove the prevalent "mountain" objection.

I thought of suggesting "Blade & Mount", but you're right, it just doesn't sound right. Warrider looks odd in print, but it sounds alright. Way of the Sword is probably my least favorite. It just seems generic. So I'd have to go with "Mount & Blade". Just try to enunciate when you say it.

I think if and once they develop some sort of main quest, they could name it something after something involving that. My second choice would be warrider because it does sound quite cool and though isn't necessarily original, is unique to game names. Plus, though you have the option of not, technically, I'm pretty sure every player has chosen to ride a horse, so the game's primary focus is horse combat.
