Greetings. If you`re reading this hopefully that means you`ve got some creative curiousity. I have an idea for a new mod. I want to be in the game designing business when I`m uot of colledge but I`ll be working in game art and concept art... ideas. I`ve come up with many details for this new mod but I have no knowledge on how to create it. I`ve done a few Oblivion mods but never anything this big.
I won`t bore you with 'too many' details until someone says they are interested, but boy do I have details. I long for an indian-thymed mod. It`d make the game worth subscribing to. Bare back painted apolosas, seperate small indian tribes that are for the most part one instance, and you are part of them. You raise in ranks from simple hunting for food to scouting and settling arguments in battle with other tribes for hunting grounds and fields to keep horses in and keeping back the western men from expanding over the forests. Supplies are the only currency and horses are fairly common and speedy and wild and fairly weak; but maybe there`s a skill for taming and being able to call them with a whistle. And you have to balance like the real indians. you can lean further to shoot arrows or  swing a wepon, but risk falling off.
Then there`s one of two western villages who want 'more power'. Real money, slower sturdier horses that are less prone to wandering, and sadles that keep you in the seat, but give you little room to move about. Guns about as strong as arrows, and jobs from cattle herding to exploring land and marking it, to pushing back indians they come across to expand and keep them from taking cattle. Striving to make more houses and farmland.
Ok, so i put more detail than I said. But anyone interested in helping?

To give you an idea of what this would take to come to pass, check out the links in my sig.

If you start on something, and have some good ideas, and are willing to do the grunt work, you may find people more willing to help.  I would start by making the meshes you need, with textures, and create the troop trees.  That is pretty basic stuff to start with and is often slow and teadious for some coders (like me...).  Do that and I'm sure you'll get more interest.

(Give positive feed back and he/she may eventually add to the community)

Yeah, you're right. I'm well aware of "niceness" theory.

You can understand the reactions, though.

I can, it's a knee jerk reaction, and I started down the same path, but playing some Red Faction :Gorilla last night has me more relaxed, though the EDF suffered many losses...

Normally I would leave the thread and wait for new poster to complain that no one is replying before jumping in.  Maybe I'm just getting soft...

I haven`t done mesh work or anything of the sort yet, hence why I said if someone wants the idea , or if they want to work on it along with me planning out concepts for the cities and people and such, they can. It`s JUST an idea. If you don`t like it, just read something else. Don`t whine about having to read it, because you don`t 'have' to. I just thought it would be a neat idea to put out there.

I also said I wouldn`t go into further detail or put work into it unless someone wanted to do it and wanted help. Otherwise, just let the post die and keep playing the game. It`s not a big deal. I`ll stick to doing small mods for myself, probbly more on Oblivion.

I'm a fan of going easy on guys like this. I mean seriously, if you read what he said, it is NOT like the usual 'I R h@s id3A$, mak M0d 4 m3!' (who in fact, need to be flamed).
