So, would you want to play a Mount and Blade MMORPG? Or do you think it'd tank faster than David Hasselhoffs career?
Personally I would love the idea. Because I figure it could work like this, character creation, leveling up and combat could all be the same but when you start off you can choose from the factions like -- Swadian, Nord, Vaegir, Rhodok, Khergit, Sarranid or bandit. And pvp combat could work like if Swadia goes to war with the Vaegirs then any Swadian player can automatically fight and kill any Vaegir player they find or vice versa.
But they cannot automatically kill any other player that the are not at war with without starting a duel or if he/she or his/her opponent is a bandit in which case if they happen to find one they can automatically kill them and maybe get a bounty reward
This would make for some pretty interesting gameplay I think as its like taking Warband and its awesome Multiplayer feature but with a MUCH bigger map, that map being all of Calradia of course.
Btw I know it seems kind of unfair for the bandits being able to be killed by players from any faction but bandits can slip away in a snap not to mention they should have like underground connections to sneak them into towns and such. Plus ambushing would probably be very common as players could attack others without them actually knowing about there will be an attack before hand. It creates a sense of danger during times of war because you never know when you could get ambushed by the enemy faction so people will probably be more likely to travel in groups and be on guard and if you don't be careful you could walk into an ambush and get pincusioned by arrows you never saw coming.
Anyway, post your replies and I would LOVE to hear some ideas for the gameplay and features that this could have. Who knows, maybe it'll catch the devs eyes.
