After combat, you will get loots which equipment tier match with the unit tier you defeat down. Units upgrade only cost a little money but product higher tier equipment when defeated. After endless bandits killing or faction conflict, innumerable equipment sale to market but never be consumed.
For my limited acquaintance about how eco system work, I can't tell what impact as consequence, but i'm sure this is pretty big issue.
My advice is,add equipment requirement when unit upgrade just like horseman work. May it slow down war tempo? It only takes about 300 days for AI to conquer the world in current version.
