A finishing move and stun attack

what i have proposed is this: when on foot and fighting enemies you are able to stun them in certain situations, such as there is 3 or more surrounding u at one time, and what it enables you to do is stun the opponent allowing u to get away, the enemy is also able to do the same, but the effects for both sides would be maximum 5 seconds, also after u stun an opponent, there is a finishing attack where your character rams his axe/sword/polearm through him stomach or knocks him of his feet and smashes down with their weapon, but because ur unable to die in M&B a finishing move would only be used on your fellow soldiers by the enemy.

no no, not every single enemy around you, just like one in front of you, becuase obviously its impossible to stun every single opponent, anyway im gonna say that you can only stun an enemy that your properly locked in combat with, not just randomly running around stunning everyone

Nothing about the game's current combat system is compatible with "locking combat" with someone; there's no "targeting" system or whatever, and most melee combat is running around willy-nilly swinging your axe (or whatever).  In the absence of "targeting", there's no way for the game to register this condition.

Besides, what would you do to stun them, bop them on the head?  We already bop people on the head, except we do it to kill them.

Cheers.

Already the game stuns someone who is hit somewhere, I often think it is best to not get surrounded for this exact reason, It's hard in real life to defend from multiple assailants, Mount & blade, which removes peripheral vision should not try to make it easier.

You mean like the flinch from when a person takes enough damage, except longer? There's already something like that with blunt-damage weapons. They can randomly knock people down, and that can save your life.

What he meant is actually something MaB doesn't have, which is to temp stun a locked target so you have the opportunity to make a finishing move to kill the target (full animation stun effect-kind of like a drunk person).  If you've played The Witcher, that's what I'm talking about.  A great game btw (combat is flawless).

this is what i meant the topic to be about, sorry if you guys got the wrong meaning of it.

I didn't

It would certainy add some grit to the battlefield, but I don't think anything fancy is needed.
Something along the lines: you knock a guy down, then thrust downwards to make sure he's not getting up.

If we're going for the 'stun' effect thing, a hit to a helmet that doesn't kill someone should stun him/her depending on the severity of the blow.

i was thinking something along these lines could be implemented, soemthing simple like that, it doesnt have to be a 15 second animation of u stabbing a guy 50 different ways

Actually that would be cool killing someone in more than 50 ways by me, but then, I'd get bored once I have seen all those 50 ways

according to a few magic games i used to play stunning people is when u do a magic spell and your opponent was frozen for a few seconds. thats what it sounds to me that u want. thats fine but M&B doesn't have magic.

i think the enemy must spent more time in the ground when knocked down , so then we can have a chance of thrust him 'til death (or , implement a single finish move) , i think this is what Gunrunner wants

and finishing moves must be implemented (but , also not exaggerated...)

MY ENGLISH IS HORRIBLE , SORRY...

Bob, it's time you remove that sig from there.  Learn how to read. Thanks.

OT I agree about having this stun effect.  I like the idea.

Theres the pot calling the kettle black. Practice what you preach.

OT: Stun moves are to... dramatic, for this game to be honest. In war you are not concentrating on how you kill him, just killing him. Maybe a final video showing a dramatic at camera swing, or away from, for 200+ battles?

As for stunning, it was already annoying while it was ALWAYS there, it is fine as it is now.

All is asked here in the thread is about having some stun effect, nothing fancy, and a finishing move.  A blunt weapon mentioned here could do that, just common sense, and ending with a killing move. Really, it's nothing more than usual combat trying to finish someone in battle along these lines.
Sure, it is fine as it is now.  I was hoping you'd say GREAT instead.

How's the stun animation going to look? Will it look like they're swaying on their feet?

Cranial trauma that a person can recover from in a few moments are very short. The symptoms are mainly a white light during the moment of impact and a momentary loss of balance. I think the in game animation already portrays this accurately.
