A few suggestions I thought might fit the game

I find that that best way to come up with ideas is get frustrated with things. When you become frustrated with something it usually is missing something. Here's a few things I think will enhance the game:

*** Each faction point both positive and negative will affect prices by that amount in percent. For example, if you have +12 with Swadians then you get a 12% discount at stores. Conversly you get a 12% hike in cost at the opposite faction.

*** Find and raid a pirate/bandit stronghold. If you are significantly powerful enough, have no faction rating and have high leadership skill you can become a King of theives of sorts.

*** Speaking of faction standings, can a current faction level be placed on the character screen or the statistics screen (which doesn't seem to do anything at this time)

*** Add a "spur horse" command in combat. If you get stopped for one reason or another, you can spur your horse to get a quick burst of speed from a dead stop. This has a chance to buck you from the horse, and the chance of being bucked from the horse is reduced by your riding skill.

*** Opposite factions can deny you quests if you faction get's too bad with them.

*** Slow down the character idle animations a bit, they are distracting with how many times they switch stances.

*** Each extra horse in your inventory gives one normally unmounted troop a horse. Preference to hero characters, then normal troopers.

*** Moving troops in the party screen doesn't seem to have any effect on which troops you get on the battlefield. Can we make this useful?

*** Merchants should equip/hold sample items that they sell. For example, the armorer should be wearing armor, the weapon smith should be holding a weapon and the food/goods merchant a hunk of meat or something.

*** Make the escape key a universal button to back out of menus. I can hit "C" to go into the character screen, "I" to go into inventory and "Q" for quest but I have to use the mouse to hit "done" to get out. That's annoying.

*** Create a "custom" folder with shield, horse, weapon, armor subfolders for people to put custom textures in. A text file in there can be used to designate what model each texture belongs on.

Vadakill's Shield, modelType#, texture.bmp

*** Color code the item names so we can tell how common or how good of quality something is.

*** Have the ability to pay extra to rest until the following day instead of having to pay once to go to evening, then pay again to go to dawn.

Just a few ideas.

That first idea is f'ing great, and would be very useful. Say your riding skill needs to be half again what the skill for the horse is (riding 6 for a charger which requires 4, for example). Would be immensely useful.

As for the second one, heroes can get horses by you trading them. You won't get any profit, so don't expect to, but it is immensely useful to deck your friends out as much as you would yourself. As for mounting other untis, I have often thought it would be useful. I have nothing to do with my 800000 denar really.

these are some very well-thought-out and clearly arranged ideas - I like a lot of them - brilliant suggestions and your clear arrangement will help Armagan notice them!

I second all those little enhancehents.

And also Alphabeta, seeing as tho you're an impromptu member of the dev team I'd just like to point out that the hore model is a bit pointy in some places. It's a really minor thing but at the moment my horse's arse looks alot like a horse's arse- if you catch my drift.

I like this one. i have seen(i believe most of us have) when their precious knights get killed by bandits or khergits cause they stop right when they get past them(on a tree or a mountain) and get" stabbed in the back"

I think that the troops on the top of the list have a higher chance of being picked. Either that or the top of the list participate in the first few waves and the bottom of the list fights toward the end of the battle.

I think that you can press tab to get out of these windows. And out of taverns and stuff too.

Edit: That's my bad. Turns out it only works for taverns and towns and stuff, not those menus. Sorry.
