A Few Questions

I've played alot of Mount and Blade, but with Fire and Sword is the first I've played Online. So forgive me if these are common knowledge but there's a few things I don't understand.

1. When playing online any armor purchases will be undone/randomized into inferior equipment at death/respawn. I thought maybe that you had to just rebuy the equipment at death, but I've died and not lost anything many other times :???:

Is this a glitch or lag or cheats etc...? Almost all of my friends refuse to play due to this one event taking away all the hard earned equipment...

2. The Spear/Pike Seems to have alot of hit issues...

This one I'm assuming is lag? I've seen horses/guys ignore spears as they go right through them as if you didn't even attack...And one of the attacks where he raises it awkwardly above his head (looks glitched to me btw), it seems to get even worse at hitting people despite pegging them dead on

But yeah with that aside, I've been enjoying it so far, but I would really like to find a solution to the first issue so I can get my friends to play again. So thanks in advance for any help/info

The gear issue is down to how much money you have. Every time you die the game will attempt to respawn you with the maximum equipment you have selected, be that full plate or your basic clothes. If you have enough money then no problem, however if you only have some of the money the game will then downgrade some or all of your items, so you may end up only with a basic musket instead of your miquelet one you've picked. You can therefore end up with quite a strange selection of items, which is basically the game trying to spend all your money on the best gear you can afford.

Wait a second though, if you already bought the equipment, do you really have to buy it all again? I've died before and lost no money from re-buying things, but other times it'll just downgrade my stuff across the board.

So honestly, do you re-buy your equipment on death, or is this just a glitch? Or was keeping my stuff without the loss at death the glitch? This is what annoys me and my friends so if you/any1 could explain this, I'd be delighted to hear about it

I assure you there would be 80% more suicide charges if you didn't have to re-buy the equipment. Also it makes it harder which makes it more fun in this case.

1. You get a certain amount of money per each "life" in multiplayer, depending on server settings. You get bonus gold for killing people. When you die, the game purchases the equipment you've marked to be bought. The extra gold for killing people is spent, but you always get the respawn gold. So if you have too expensive equipment chosen and keep dying, eventually you can't afford it since you'll be back to the spawn amount.

2. Pikes have a minimum effective range like the big axes do. It seems to me there are ways to glitch with them so you can hit closer than you should, though. Likewise, there are ways to use spears at strange angles and sometimes lances seem to reach a lot longer than their graphics indicate. It is annoying, but nothing we can really do about it. Needs a patch.

So let me get this straight (sry for being so slow on this lol)

Every life you get the starting money + whatever extra money from kills, which is then used automatically to re-buy your equipment at death. But if you can't, it basically panics and downgrades things to try and afford certain items. This sound right?

I don't think I like how that works...I understand the bit about the suicide charges, but this can really unbalance some things in modes like siege. The attacking team on some maps really has to push wave after wave of men to get through some places, and because of that the defense gets better gear alot faster and easier to hide in the fort with while the offense is punished for being killed (usually sniped lol) before they even get to fight?

I just think that once you buy your equipment, to compromise with you about people being able to just throw themselves at each other, maybe just make it full price initially but after you've bought it once, discount it so your not severely punished for a case of bad luck, some random mistake, or some jerk hiding away, waiting for a cheap kill.

But anyway onto the bit about the spears/pikes/pointed sticks lol
I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing that, hate finding out I'm overreacting

So does anyone know when a patch is due out? I know it hasn't updated in a while, so are they saving up for a big patch? Or is this game done with patch wise?

And btw thanks for all the help/info so far, I like not being flamed on forums
