Sergeant
First, what version of Warband is needed to play this, I have 1.134 and am hesitant to patch as I read there are a lot of problems with the new version.

How complete is the mod?

How bad are the bugs in this mod? I read a lot of stuff about bugged naval battles, crashes and other things, plus from various screenshots the English/grammar in the dialogue is in some cases very poor.

I saw no stickied FAQ, I think this mod looks very cool, i just wonder how complete and stable it is.

The newest version of warband is what this is set up for, its better than the one most had complained about. That got patched rather quickly.

Mod is pretty complete, you can just stay off the sea if you have trouble with the sea battles. As for crashes, i have had one, and they already know the cause of it. One of the 6 starting towns had a scene error, and that was already being worked on.

Grammar isn't perfect, but still very good for someone who is not a native English speaker. Some minor things, if you want reasons not to play you'll find that in any mod.

Warband 1.142 was somewhat buggy, but the latest 1.143 should be fine, and I think it's safe to patch up.

Brytenwalda 1.34 still has some nasty bugs. Some have very few problems, others have crashes...
But the text/grammar has been improved a lot and should not be a big problem now.

Hmm, I see. Is there a previous version of the mod without the sea battles and maybe less bugs? I unfortunately don't see an archive anywhere here.

I still prefer the old version, because of a bunch of bugs which annoys me a lot about the new version. The old version was stable and really enjoyable (including sea-battles.)

I've uploaded it for you:

Hey man, thanks a million. I was looking all over for 1.32 or 1.30 and had no luck. Does this version have good graphics, or do I need to download the polished landscapes?

No, you have to install Polished Landscapes yourself.
We have chosen to make graphical enhancements optional.

This one should work for 1.332:

I'd recommend the improved faces for women aswell

Halløjsa danske viking. Vel mødt

I don't like the new female faces that much, so check out the screenshots before you decide to install.

Why are all those raised towns with the palisades colored like bright green on the campaign map, when the earth around them is brown?

I think it's just the town icon that clashes with the overland map colours.
Haven't really thought about it as a problem.

Well, I mean this is a pretty good mod, but obtusely designed; for example, why doesn't this mod use PBOD? It is probably one of the most elegant things offered by the open source mod community. There also are a plethora of graphics/texture problems, not to mention text/dialogue errors. I'm using 1.32 luckily because I read about all the bugs in 1.34, which seems very overreaching, considering all the other things that need polishing.

It's a good mod, but it is very raw around the edges, it needs polishing, not big changes; just an opinion.

It's one of the most important open source mods available.

No offense, but one look at the 1.34 bug thread is enough to make a person think how did this get to 1.0, considering there is no download to previous stable versions.

It's a cool mod, but man is it ugly and inelegant.

Yes, I would like to support this suggestion. Is it possible to integrate the PBOD-Battle-Planning in Brytenwalda?

somehow i got the feeling u didnt play that mod very much and have no real idea about what was changed between the versions.

the new version has a few nasty but fixable bug. all in all it mostly runing smooth with out CTD'S 98% of the time. a few problems with the config files do exsist wich is obvious. but its playable even if it is extremly hard to get somewere  in that world.

bug thread is big cause evrylittle thing impacting the game or not is listed so it can be fixed sooner or later.
there are only maybe 5 or 6 thing which are realy impacting the gameplay and i guess they will be fixed rather sooner then later.

maybe the team should post a comment on the patch work in progress and if more detailed reports or other help is needed .

pbo would make a nice addition to the mod but i am unsure how much work that will need. guess patching shuld come bevore adding new content.

but if u realy like it take the new version and have a look on the implementation of pbo so u can tell the team how to do it or help em.
