A couple suggestions

Many of these have probably been mentiones millions of time but still I will state them if just to put my mind at ease:

1. I have noticed that it is nearly impossible to lose a 1 vs 1 combat, however, it is like wise impossible to fight more than one person (sometimes I get lucky and I can win against 2) anyway so I was thinking a easy way to fix this (and it would increase strategy) is to stop people from attacking through their friends (there sword gets blocked like if it hit a tree or something) this would allow someone who is fairly nimble on their feet to dart around so that not too many people can attack him.

2. Something else which is fairly complicated is "Battle Strategy" (Note this will require some basic form of formations) at the beginning of a battle (maybe if the player/commander has enough "tactics" skill) he can create a battle plan. This would basically consist of: 1. Choosing some units (maybe 1 type, or a certain number just selected) 2. And then drawing a path on a birds-eye view of the battlefield (with certain conditions like if an enemy gets 'this' far than attack) and the units would then follow the path and do what you told them (Note this is also fairly realistic). However, you would still need to be able to call them back if the plan fails. This would seriously add a lot of strategy to the game and allow the possibility (if the commander is smart) that a small army could win against a bigger one without the player having to kill everyone himself. This would only really work if the enemy did that as well.

And that is all I can think of for now. But I will edit if I think of something else.

Ps: Sorry I write a lot.

1. Is excellent. Now you can get circled but that is realistic.
2. Interesting idea. Should be possible.

Just give a friendly fire melee option and your #1 choice will be a nonissue.

That requires code for the AI to understand it can't do that anymore which entails a fair amount of effort at this stage in the game.

And just to say I don't really code mount and blade so don't suggest that I do anything because I can't.

Then again isn't Mount and Blade in Python?? Then I might be able to do some stuff I know Python fairly well. (Written some games myself)

Mount and Blade is indeed coded in Python. If you know it you might be able to help a mod implement said idea.

1. We already have this. If you swing a weapon at your troops  it bounces off of them instead of cutting right through them and still, without a dash/quick jump feature there's not much you can do to evade blows consistently anyways.

2. This is like an advanced form of the "backspace" tactical map.

Of all the ideas out there, why hasn't anyone asked for a restucturing of the keyboard commands?

I've played a ton of games, and as far as the keyboard command setup...it's almost like stuff made in the 90s...

DAOC had real time combats similar to this, where each troop was a real live player...but to truly be marketable on a mass scale, the controls need to be intuitive.....for example [dismount]  surely we can macro it to a key or something.  DAOC had a ton of commands for the keyboard and most people found a way to fit them all into a single nostromo.  Then WoW came out and perfected the camera...[hold left mouse button] = movement of the camera without changing the target objects orientation...[hold right mouse button] = movement where movement of camera changed orientation...etc

I have had fun playing this game for the last few days... but I hope the dev's haven't ruled out remaking the keyboard...or adding commands etc...  hey special abilities for heroes could be fun!  -cheers

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't DAOC use the same ****ty left click, watch, use skills as needed and keep watching mechanics as every other MMORPG out there?

What difficulty settings are you playing? Dierectional blocking? Also, set the damage_treshold in module ini to something like 10-15. It will make your life harder...

You already have a birdseye view and you can order specific troop types to go where you like. I don't think M&B is supposed to be so much about strategy, and i don't want these TW-features in it. M&B is havoc.

1. I am not sure some of you understand: I want the enemies to not be able to attack through their friends (if you have not noticed that they do then look a little close). Their is nothing about dodging or anything, just you would need to place your self in such a way that their is always 1 enemy in between you and the rest.

2. You can really?? Wow I didn't know; how do you do that?

2. Press "backspace" during battle. It's a very basic map interface which will hopefully be improved in later versions.
