Keeper
Knight at Arms

Yrann

Factions:
Gaü-Ragand, The Inheritors of The North:
Lombar, The Invaders:
Shanaar, Empire of The Everlasting Sun:
Shanaar is ruled by seven high-captains, all of them pirates. Their seat of power lies in the Jade Palace of Urian-Khai, from where they rule the land with an iron-grip. Few dare oppose them directly, but those who do will soon be 'removed', by the Black Guardians, the Malak-Shi. Most of the would be usurpers have a tendency to vanish as well, most likely by the hands of the Masked Brotherhood, a semi-secret organization who have the favor of the 'Council of Seven' with them.
Most of the Shanaarim are content, however. Due to the effective rule of the Seven, the Shanaarim have prospered and grown quite wealthy in these passing years.
There is, of course, the problem with their neighboring rivals, the ones who call themselves 'The Free People' and who are causing havoc on the northern borders of Shanaar. The Shanaarim are searching for a way to root out these barbarians, but to no avail. The Free People (also called 'Gaü-Ragand') have no known base of operations, making it difficult for the Shanaarim to effectively eliminate the ruling warlords. The Shanaarim, being a mighty military faction, need not to worry that the barbarians overthrow their dominant position in the north. However, should the barbarians find powerful allies amongst the other factions, such as the Lombar...
Here are some of the troops that can be found in the armies of Shanaar:
Troops: Note that many of the units prefer pikes and halberds over one-handed weapons, but sometimes they will wield axes for more effective toe to toe combat.
Winged Horseman: Warriors who are raised to nobility for their deeds in the battlefield. They ride heavily armored chargers and wear a huge shield with an ax or a spear depending on the preferred fighting style. Their armors have two 'wings' with the black feathers of a harpy, a legendary beast of the mountains, to display their importance and their superiority on the battlefield.
Unmounted Winged Horseman:
Ko-Warrior: These warriors wield the Ko, an exotic weapon which resembles a spear, but which is actually a shortsword attached on the head of a staff. They also wield a small shield to give them protection against missiles.
Ko-Warrior:
The Black Guard: Elite warriors who wield a halberd the shape of a crescent moon. They wield heavy armor with a black cloak to display their status.

Archer/Mounted Archer: Lightly armed and fast missile units.
Archer:
Long-Ax-Man: Long-Ax-Men form the backbone of most shanaar armies.

Militia: Raised from the ranks of peasants, they are not suited for defeating any seasoned warriors.
Spear-wielding Militia:
Corsairs: Ambidextrous pirates who are trained in the military facilities and then sent to guard the merchant vessels that sail to distant lands, or to sink them, if they are ordered to do so. Well armed, well trained and very dangerous opponents.
