A 90-employee studio with ONE actively-maintained product is releasing only ONE THREE-LINE bug fix patch per week. Unbelievable.

Its in EARLY ACCESS! I have tried many early access games and betas and I know that this is going way better than other games like Cube World and many others. They have done a great job with Warband with many updates. Show the devs support.

I’ve followed many early access games. I wouldn’t say things are going great.

I was 100% behind arma2’s dayz. It was fun. Launch of stand-alone was promised. Arma3 was announced. Launch of standalone was delayed. Arma3 was a smashing success. That tiny map and limited mp was all we needed tbh. Dayz standalone still didn’t get released. Time dragged. Development had long since stopped. Arma3 was released. Still no dayz standalone. Wasteland became the most popular map. Dayz then launched. Dayz was not a success. To make arma 3 resemble this... it would be like we could only use the guns we didn’t like, one would be op, and the bullets didn’t shoot right.

You guys are making Taleworlds sound like Digital Homocide. Just be patient.

Wow. So now a video game not living up to expectations is "unethical"?

I say that's not strong enough. We should call it "crimes against humanity" and get the International Criminal Court at the Hague involved. Obviously Taleworlds is worse than Hitler for how they exterminated workshop profits so no punishment can be too harsh for these evil evil villains.
I guess not all of us work for our money..... so paying for false advertisement is no great crime

Unethical might be a quite an exaggeration, that would possibly qualify if they decided to lock up their employees in a basement to keep them working 24/7 so the game has the more rapid process most of us desire.
However, you won't achieve anything if constructive criticism devolves into ranting and flaming, because even if the intent of your action may have some understandable reasoning behind it, a pitiful execution only discredits yourself. So keep it classy and point out flaws, propose adjustments et cetera in a civil manner and we'll eventually be blessed with the progress the game and the community deserve.
Cause sometimes you cant solve problems with kind words, and in this case, we have a stubborn learner.

It is better to be violent, if there is violence in our hearts, than to put on the cloak of nonviolence to cover impotence.

Great idea. Let's storm the TW offices. Off with their heads!

No, seriously. You sound dangerous

Man seeing these threads hurts my head. We're in an industry that's surrounded by liars, scammers, and big enterprises taking child's money with microtransactions, with a billion of DLCs, seasons pass, the incredible scam that loot boxes are but here we are, criticizing an almost indie enterprise that started how long ago? 15 years ago from absolutely nowhere? Are we blaming them of what exactly? Not caring about this game
? while they spent their funds making an engine from scratch? People love the quote of 8 years but they wont even mention they spent 4 years developing an engine while Bethesda is still selling 70 dollar games using an engine that's a decade old.
Threads like this are filled with unjust and just hatepilled posts. I understand the frustration of not seeing the game in its completion but with the amount of actual crowdfunded games that went into early access and died in the process because developers actually not giving a **** to release the game we should actually be understanding the process of what this game is going through. The only reason I see they've released this game in early access is because fans just were sticking them with forks to see this game released, it happened so much that when this game had the hopes of being released back in 2016 everyone insulted and mistreated the devs the old CM just left the company lmao.
You're mad because you paid for a game that is not completed, but are you seriously blaming devs because you've paid for something with EARLY ACCESS tag? You can all dismiss this Early Access thing all you want it doesn't stop the game from being Early Access, it doesn't matter what you expect it to be, they didnt lie in a any moment of the process and if you say otherwise you know you're lying, acusing this company of false advertising is beyond comprehension and it's just you blaming them for your actions lol. The info was there all along.
Again, I am not happy with the current state of the game, but neither I will go and insult people working their ass while a massive virus is out there releasing patches every 2 weeks, that is still on the works and with devs constantly communicating with the forums (even if you say they dont, they do communicate even if you dont want to see it). I know what I was using my money in and I knew my fun was going to find holes, but its what I payed for, to take part of the development process and in 1 year when I come back I know I'll see a completely different game.
Keep ranting in anonymity, its easy to do so, meanwhile Taleworlds is still working on the game and you will probably keep playing it for hours.

This is circular reasoning if you don't explain what Early Access even means.

Let's do a thought experiment: Let's imagine the game was released in the exact same state as it was in March. Now imagine that the only change was that Callum didn't mention "early access" anywhere in the PR fluff.

What's the difference? Do you think the game would be any different after 4 months based on him saying early access or not?

Im not quite sure if I follow what you are saying here. However, if the game was released as being finished, Id be annoyed. Since it wasn't, I'm happy to have access to the game as is and I have enjoyed it. I have also told my friends who weren't as die hard a fan of the gameplay as me to hold off on buying the game.

I thought it's explained pretty clearly on the Steam page:

Early Access Game
Get instant access and start playing; get involved with this game as it develops.
Note: This Early Access game is not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development. Learn more

What are you trying to imply with this, the game wasnt clearly nowhere near finished as it was in March, the game would have flopped because its obviously a work in progress. What is an early access? What else do you want me to say about it, its implied in the name. You pay and you play the game before its finished, with the promise that the game WILL be finished and this works both for testing and to gather funds to finish the game. If you release a game in THAT state you imply its already done and its not only playable but completely enjoyable and bugless.
I cant answer your question because I dont see the point of reasoning it. I could guess they would have keep working on it, but with the burden of the game being hated for its poor state, which would have been worse.
If you're trying to imply this is a scam and early access is just a name well, with all that I've said before I completely disagree. They ARE selling the game but they warn the buyer that this is an early access and you wont have the full experience.
An actual scam would be showing unaccuarate representations of the game, like showing it with better graphics that the game actually has, like a lot of AAA games do and portraying a different experience, which AFAIK Taleworlds has never done (some features were scrapped but they are very much open about it).

Man you are taking this musashi roleplay thing a little too seriously I think

Right, it's really not that complicated. And I do get people being unhappy and annoyed but can we tune things down a lil bit? I don't think it is quite time to grab our pitchforks yet (especially since apparently some people seem to want to do that literally ).

Yes, and I have done the same.

Seems pretty clear to me.

And you sound like your trolling considering were discussing a game which demonstrates that most change comes through applied violence.

I think your taking the Christopher McCandless RP too seriously.
Disagree, TW has had enough time and has un-apologetically dropped the ball. They made millions, time to deliver.

Early Access IS NOT an excuse to release something half finished and barely functional. Further it is expected during EA that the developers have increased communication with players in order to have fast turn around of code through rigorous community testing and keep the community advised and excited about upcoming fixes/changes/additions. To some of you this may be acceptable (to whom i ask why are you even here?) but to a growing number of people this game is not up to even an EA standard, and TW's actions since release have been unacceptable.

This is really a discussion of differing definitions. Some of you think this is fine and dandy for EA. Some of us think this is a cult releasing its newest scam with a lot of brainwashed followers. We have strongly held opposing opinions, which is fine, but using 'this is fine for EA' is not a compelling counter-argument.

And then there's a lot of shades of grey in the middle, where most of us actually stand. I am not sure I understand what you are expecting people to do here.

He is angry and wants everyone just as angry and feels that we are just fanboys for having any degree of optimism.

Sure, I expected more than what we got. Oh well, its still fun as hell for me. I see the glimmer of greatness down the road, hopefully a year from now... but I got more to worry about than games in my life. If I stop having fun I'll move on. I certainly won't spam the forums with the same tired complaints.
