HISTORY​

The 99th (Lanarkshire) Regiment of Foot was an infantry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1824 and amalgamated into The Duke of Edinburgh's (Wiltshire Regiment) in 1881.
The regiment was raised in 1824 as the 99th Regiment of Foot, taking a county title in 1836 as the 99th (Lanarkshire) Regiment of Foot. In 1874 it was renamed to the 99th Duke of Edinburgh's (Lanarkshire) Regiment of Foot, taking its title from Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh.​

Service in Australia ....................................................... 1842 saw the 99th Regiment leave Chatham for Tasmania and arrived in Sydney 1843.The 99th was a very unpopular Regiment with the 11th Regiment being bought to Sydney to control the 99th. 1848 The 99th was stationed in Hobart and left Australia in 1856. The 99th will be playing as the 33rd Regiment of Foot unit ingame and will use the 42nd Blackwatch Bagpiper as the musician.​

Training to be held at 7:00GMT PM Tuesday, Friday and Sunday​
