(950) Some polearms can't be swung horizontally.

I'm not sure if this is a bug but I've noticed that some polearms can't be swung horizontally and it doesn't make sense.  Well, one specifically.  I've been using a jousting spear, and a pike neither of switch could be swung horizontally which made sense.  Now though I got a Balanced Military Scythe which also for some reason can't be swung horizontally.  Now that doesn't really make much sense in my opinion, considering that it's a bladed weapon and is also shorter than the normal scythe and the Poleaxe.  Both of which can be swung in all directions.

I've heard that the scythe has some problems, so I believe this is true, but I want to know--are you using a shield?

Course not.  Otherwise I couldn't swing vertically either.

That makes me think though.  Someone should make a mod with crazy oversized anime weapons that can be swung one handed or two handed.

The military scythe definitely has problems.  Can be swung overhead, but not any other way.

I briefly considered that . . .but then how can you swing the glaive, which is essentially an exclusively two-handed military scythe, in any direction?  I used the Item Editor so that I can swing it in any direction.  At first I thought it was overpowered because of how easy it was to kill looters . . .but the scythe has a really tough time dealing with heavily armored foes.

I don't think this is a bug, I think they meant it that way. At least for most of them. I use a Balenced Pike all the time, and I know that if it was able to do side-wise swings, I would almost never got a thrust in. It can do overhand swings, with is nice, but I if it did anything else besides that it would be worthless as a spear.

That doesn't necessarily go for the scythe though. It should be able to swing all ways.

I agree with this.  The pike polearms should not be able to be used for swinging purposes, as that would look ridiculous and would defeat the real purpose of the weapon--to stab from afar.

But the military scythe is a completely different story.  It must have somehow gotten lumped in with the other "overhand swing only" polearms.

They should update the descriptions of the weapons it it's only overhead swing.. I've bought all kinds of polearms with "swing" dmg on them but haven't been able to swing them on or off the horse in any direction.  Don't think I tried overhead swings though.. Don't do them much.

But why would you put 'Swing" dmg on an item and then have them not be able to swing..  Should put "Overhead Swing" description on item if that's the case..
