Yeah, that's the one thing that's annoying me about these songs right now. I'm still searching for the perfect plugins. Right now I'm running everything through Sibelius 6, which I think has VST capabilities, but I'm still learning the program. If anyone has any suggestions or experience with really good symphonic/orchestral VST stuff, please please please let me know!yellowmosquito 说:The one (and only) problem I hear is the authenticity of the trumpets. They sound really midi-ish.
I know how hard it is to nail the trumpet sound with virtual gear. What tools are you using? Could different VSTI plugins maybe help your trumpets sound more authentic?
Keep posting guys, I'm having a blast with this! And all you composers out there, get in touch with me so we can get a decent soundtrack going for the next release.

RATMdude92 说:That would be pretty cool. If you want him to replicate the melodies I came up with, I could send him the full version and the "karaoke" version. Or, if you want him to just mess around and do his own thing, that works too. I also have a little audio editing experience, so I should be able to dub his tracks back into my stuff, unless I've forgotten why I went to college. Whatever you guys prefer.yellowmosquito 说:Actually, I think I can do one better for you. We received an offer from a trumpet player's services on our external forums. If you could upload those songs without the trumpets, we can ask him to record his trumpets in as a seperate track. What do you think?
Also, would you like me to duplicate this topic on your external forum to get more exposure?

RATMdude92 说:Ok, sounds good. I'll cut the trumpets out of "Back in the Saddle" and upload that and the original version to a hosting site and send you the link. Does he need a breakdown of the chord progression or anything like that, or is he just going to figure it out by ear?yellowmosquito 说:It is better to get a separate track so that the levels can be controlled independently. Mixing them together later is easy.
No, keep correspondence on this forum. The external forum is now only be used for developer only discussions.
Once he has a track cut, if you need me to mix it back in let me know. Or, if you guys have an internal audio person who can work with it, that works too.

Not sure what you mean by "cheap". Have the instruments sound less... expensive?Just kidding. I'm assuming you mean have the sound quality of the instruments not be as in sync as the computer makes them. Not sure if I could replicate that. Someone with a crappy old acoustic guitar could probably get that sound with more realism. Not sure that that kind of sound would fit a large battle though. Might be cool for some village or town scenes as you stroll through the streets. Probably just my personal taste coming into play.
yep that's what I mean. It was used extensively in American folk music not to mention folk music around the world. If you can get one I think it would be a great subtle addition (They were mostly used as rhythm instruments)If you mean this thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRSt803o04I&feature=related, that would be pretty awesome to get a recording of.![]()
