81st Pennsylvania History
The 81st Pennsylvania took some of the most casualties that any union regiment suffered during the Civil War with rank #15 on the regimental casualty rankings with 67% of the regiment either killed,wounded,succumbed to diseases.The 81st also fought in some of the major battles such as: The Battle Of Antietam, The Battle Of Gettysburg,The Battle of Chancellorsville,The Battle of Fredericksburg, And The Battle Of Appomattox Court house. 18 Officers died during these battles.
