.711 graphic issues

I only recently downloaded the 0.711 version of the game, and installed it for the first time. It worked perfectly (albeit taking a while to start up and start a new game) up until the face selection - any changes made caused the face to distort to the point where it was simply a collection of oddly-shaped polygons. So I ignored that section, kept the default face, and went into the game - which worked fine for about half a second, and then froze with various odd shapes (similar to the face problem earlier) being displayed, or a flickering white bar going up and down the screen, or strange text being displayed underneath the flickering graphics, which appear to be font sets. I've tried altering the graphics settings, both to suit my graphics card and trying to bump up or down performance, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. After alt-tabbing a few times back and forth, I finally got the game to a nearly-playable stage - I could see the character and move about, but any non-static objects flickered weirdly, and the game froze when I went to talk to someone. I've tried running the game in compatibility mode, uninstalling and reinstalling, and I just can't get it to work - always the same thing, although I can't seem to get to a playable stage like I did before. More recently, the game froze at the character setup screen, and I was unable to get any further.

Any suggestions on what's going on or what I can do to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I can tell, the drivers are recent... I could be wrong, though.

Sorry, I should have mentioned the card in the original post - it's an NVidia GeForce 2 (64MB).

I saw that bug in action too. It happens on my parents' computer. Very annoying: colud not play during Xmas.

Tryed fiddling with every option, both in game and on card (I really wated to play): no effect.

It seems polygons get totally screwed up. For example, it happens that every time someone's hands and heads are visible on screen, huge polygons appears all over the 3D space apparently at random (covering the sky, for example). You can see it's the head's "exploded" geometry because 1st, you get to see the repeated face texture, say, all over the sky; 2nd that creepy things moves in sync with the head; and 3rd it suddenly disappears when the head/hand in question, in its correct position, gets out of the view frustum.

Does not happen in the first 3D scene that is loaded when the game is run (e.g. town, or external map): first loaded scene works correctly, but as soon as you change scene, it skrews up again. Happens of face editing phase too, as reported by Balckish above.

That thing wasted the second application of my activation code ; I imagined I could not run it on a third computer, so I did not even try. I just had to wait to come back my own computer.

Sorry, I don't remember the graphic card model or specs. Fully working graphic-card, though; it passes all D3D testS and any other 3D game I tryed does run flawlessy on that machine.

I will report model and spec here as I find them out.
