.710 Crash upon Exit

Just to provide more information:
I've now played more and traveled about some and the crashes are quite random, but are during battles even outside the arena.

Try setting all the graphics to minimum, and the battle slider to the lowest setting. See if that improves the stability.

Also worth turning off any programs running in the background if you haven't already.

Another thing it may be worth trying is to run the game in windowed mode and see if it suffers from the problem. If so, it may give an error message.

Actually, I think I've solved my problem, Heat. Played quite a bit this weekend (much to my girls dismay) and I got the crash to re-boot again, which I thought was odd. So, I just re-started the game after my rig re-booted and after a short time it went down again. I traced the error report and it listed hardware failures and over-heating. I checked out my rig and found a small amount of dust around the power supply fan but more important the case cooling fan was about 50% blocked. During normal knocking about town the fps will be around 150, but during battles it goes down into the 40's. This shows how much power is needed and I guess during battles things got hot inside keeping up and the computer went into a "safe mode" shutting itself down. After cleaning things up a bit I played for hours at a time doing a fair amount of fighting with no problems. I thank everyone for their time and my apologies for mistaking the game for my computer issues.

I do get the crash every exit, that is every time I click on Exit to Windows in the main menu (start new game, restore, options, exit menu).

My screen goes black (still displaying the D3D cursor, so it's still using Direct3D?) and then I get the "Report errors to Microsoft" message. (So, no - the system does not reboot.)

Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 2 (5.1.2600)
Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller
Driver version 6.14.10.4363

My crash upon "Exit to Windows" happens every time I quit M&B. No Mods, no blood, Nvidia GeForce 4 MX 4000 video card (an nvidia pci card).

Might be worth checking the video drivers are up to date.

Might also be worth re-installing direct X. It could be a problem with it releasing resources correctly.

I have exact same "Exit to Wondows" error. Upon clicking the button the screen goes white and the microsoft error reporting box pops up.

Runnning on a p4 laptop, Windows XP home, Mobility Radeon 7500C.

Original install, version 0.711

My brother had the same crash (system video, no video card). We put in an ATI-Radeon 9550 AGP 256 card, and after that the crash problem stopped.
