.710 Crash upon Exit

When exiting to windows I get a white screen and an error message. It's nothing more than a minor nuisance, really, but it is a bug, and as such should not unreported go. I'm using an upgraded version (from .704), by the way.

I get the same thing, it saves the game but doesn't exit to windows so I qlick the exit to windows button on the screen and get the error message.

Are you running fresh installs or did you patch?

Try uninstalling the game, deleting the folder and using the full install.

Done and done. Fresh .711, and bug is still there. Though I believe the error message pops up quicker than it did for .710...

What is the error message?

It might also be useful if people who are still having the problem posted specs, just so we can see if there is anything in common.

Well, it's in Norwegian (given that I'm running a Norwegian system), but it's your typical "M&B has caused an error and has been terminated" (or whatever such errormessages read in English). The signature, however, should be more universal and is thus:

AppName: mount&blade.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.1 ModName: mount&blade.exe
ModVer: 1.0.0.1 Offset: 000138be

Standard exception error then.

Could be hardware or driver based. If possible it would be nice to see if everyone experiencing the error has hardware in common. Also worth trying the latest drivers for the sound and video card if you don't already have them.

Also, possibly worth using msconfig to turn everything off and see if the problem still happens. It could be a program interfering with the way M&B or Themida terminates.

I get this same error on every exit also. It's just a nuisance type thing as I've exited the game.

I've also gotten a random crash when fighting in the arena each time I've played. I say random because the length of time has not been consistent even though the location is the same. I haven't really played that much attention as I just downloaded the game a few days ago, but the arena crash seems to happen when I'm fighting (and winning) against the high level guys with the names.

My rig is an AMD processor with onboard GeForce video and I'm also running a full install, current version. The crash reboots my computer and is a device related error due to an uncompleted command.

After reading some other topics in the Bug Reports forum I tried the "turn of blood" trick. This seems to have replaced the random crash to re-boot during battles with a CTD/white screen similar to the exiting error. At the very least this not as scary.

Blood shouldn't be causing it in the latest version, and definitely not in the arena (no blood).

Which Geforce integrated card is it?

Does the problem occur in actual battles, or is it only the arena which is affected?

My video card is a "GeForce 4 MX Integrated GPU 64 MB".

As I said I only just started playing earlier this week, so far the crashes seem to only be in the arena. The fact the arena doesn't have blood and that the error was an "unexecuted command" or some similar wording in the error report kind of made sense to me. Turning of blood has for certain stopped the crash to reboot and changed it to the white screen/CTD.

It could be the driver causing the problem.
Depends on where you get your drivers from. Depending on motherboard you may need third party drivers, or you might be able to use the Nvidia ones.

Assuming you have free RAM it may be worth assigning more to the card if possible.

It does seem strange that it only effects the arena. I would have thought if anything the problem would occur in actual battles rather than arena fights.

Quite a few people are reporting this, and the one common denominator so far seems to be an integrated video card.

Can people posting this problem confirm this? Make & Model, driver version if possible.

If your unsure, you can find out by going to start - > run and typing dxdiag. Hit enter, and on the screen which appears click the display tab. It should list the manufacturer and model of the card, alongside the driver information.
