.702 mount&blade.exe will not delete

I downloaded the .702 m&b exe from the thread in the announcement part of the general discussion thread. I have a copy on my desktop and a copy in my M&B folder. When I try to delete either, I get an error saying the file is being used by another person or program. I saw a similar thread, and the person fixed it by rebooting a few times, but I have tried that and it hasn't worked. Any advice would be great-

Have you tried to boot your Windows in Safe Mode (tapping F8 right when it starts to load for the menu) to erase the file ?
Most times this helps me to get rid of files that don't want to left my computer.

Thanks much for the reply Bendit.

I have tried that already, but no luck.
I have also tried quarentining it with Symantec antivirus-Corporate, which didn't work...

Run MSconfig and turn off everything.

Reboot.

Try deleting it straight away.

Also try ctrl-alt-del going to the processes tab, and closing all non-essential processes. Basically everything except explorer.exe. If using xp that is.

I finally ended up getting it a little bit ago. I tried all the things above, with no luck. I ended up having to reboot in the "no-gui" safe mode (by using MSconfig), which just gives you a command/DOS prompt. Luckily I remembered my DOS commands and was able to delete the offending files manually (If anyone else does this, DOS doesn't like "&"'s, unless you put the file/dir name in quotes). I still don't know where exactly this problem was coming from/ what process was using the .exe, but oh well.
