60Regimiento De Infantería de Línea Bailén
History
Bailén Infantry Regiment No. 60, has its origins in the Spanish War of Independence and after the famous battle which owes its name. While some authors place their training in Jaén, Granada others do, having also controversy in the creation date and both cited the September 15 (possibly more accurate) and October 1. The organization is based on three battalions with a total strength of 2,500 men, serving the purpose of "Volunteer Companies' Board of Jaén, and effective volunteers recruited from the" Regiment of the Crown "," Jaen Regiment "and "Regiment Cantabria". Its first leader was the Duke of Osuna.
