5 kids and all 5 girls? really?

If you wait together in a town and have wine in your inventory, you will get a girl, and if you wait together in a castle and have beer in your inventory, you will get a boy.

Just kidding. It's random, and random numbers are a *****.

Save often and re-load if you wanted a boy, it seems to be decided when it pops out. Could be more to it as sometimes I have to re-load many times to get the other sex, but who knows. I wish TW would let you choose if you want to give away or take in clan members so it didn't matter, but for now a boy is many times more useful because it can marry and take in a wife to the clan AND make more children for you clan, the girls are only good in the fringe situation of already having many clan members and actually wanting to donate her to a vassal clan or such.

It's so funny TW, like you tried to woke but then you went back to bed

My last playthrough got me 3 girls. What's annoying is the fact that they all look the same and have the same personality. Wish they would randomize that thing more.

This problem exists since the very first EA version. Recently, I've created a bug report about it just to draw the devs' attention to the problem (there were numerous bug reports about the same problem before me), but I was really surprised when I was asked for a save file, so they could investigate, lol. I sent it to them, let's see how fast they will fix the clone problem.

Next time respond by challenging tech support to provide a save file proving that the problem doesn't exist. They love a little fight from the users.

In vanilla its configured 51% boys to 49% girls chance, if I remember correctly. But even then its possible to get like 10 girls in a row and so on.

For gameplay reasons I think it would be better if it´s just:

Girl > Boy > Girl > Boy...or Boy > Girl > Boy > Girl...
That would be boring, having always one and the same childbirth pattern. It's almost as the 2%-death chance, which made the whole death function barely noticeable and bland.

It may be boring, but as long as male clan members are more valueable than female clan members it would be the right "balance" option, so TW totally won´t do it, so nevermind

The better option would be to add some benefits for getting a girl, but that´s even more unrealistic because of TW.

How are they more valuable? There's literally no difference between playing a female and a male.

Keep the youngest for your heir and marry the rest off to uplifted companion clans to get them breeding quickly and give them an extra party leader.

Maybe your brothers will have a few boys...

When you have a boy child, they bring their wife into your clan. When you have a girl child, they join the clan they marry into. Unless it's your character, then it doesn't matter.

So boys grow your clan, girls shrink it.

I think for the player we need negotiation for who leaves and who joins the clan, for NPC it should be the smaller clan gets the spouse joining or a more sophisticated thing like that to even it out. They should also add another means get spouses in the event there is an 18 yo and no fertile spouse is found (by whatever the game does...) in a reasonable time, like okay it's been a year, they ****ed the maid or the stable boy, shotgun longbow wedding, life goes on.

And of course the related problem of clan dying out because of a little bad luck because their kids married out, and just 1 or 2 died, then old parents die before any young members are 18... that need to fixed, perhaps generate a guardian NPC for the clan until the children are 18 and let them just behave like a minor clan (or just hang out in towns) and then resurge when children are 18 and re-join a faction.

And rebels and wanderers clans need to spawn some ladies, obviously if you have a bunch of 3 or 4 dudes spawning all the time there's going to be a massive shortage of women for marriage!

but I was really surprised when I was asked for a save file
They've been pretty active in the support section. Just report stuff when you find them. If they can fix it then cool, if not, well, it costs nothing to report anyway.

I don't think this is the optimal solution. Players can make a stupidly big clan and make other clans only have a few members. They really should just fix the relationship system. Add a person-person relationship on top of the clan-clan relation. This way your daughter will still contribute to your clan while being married to a different one, because you have the relation points to ask her for favors. By extension, you can manipulate her husband too.
