I think the best option would be a mass boycott of AT&T, then. Hit them where it hurts; right in the cashflow.
It's AT&T. Anyone paying for them in the first place should probably put themselves forward for euthanasia.

I don't think anyone here cares about /b/. No half-way decent human being would.

They care about an ISP making decisions for them. At least I do.

Well, the question of what 4channers were going to do about it has been answered. Apparently, they DDoS'd themselves.
Why am I not surprised.

Nah, some dude name Kimmo or something DDoS'ed 4chan.

FrisianDude 说:
What, he did that all by himself?

I honestly couldn't tell you. He's the owner of some wesbite.

But he was apparently the reason AT&T blocked 4chan to begin with.

I wana know why I got censored. I know only a bit about 4chan, never been there myself because I have been told not to.

From what I've heard about the illustrious 4chan I have no problem with AT&T blocking them.

I agree. I have heard people call it the Hell of the internet.

For people who never actually visited the site and only hear about from people like your selves you sure hate them. Of course you don't actually hear about 4chan either you only hear about the random board but hey - don't let me point out your baseless hatred for you.

I never said hatred and excuse me for making an opinion on something. I'm not going on some crusade to destroy 4chan because I heard some kid called another kid a ******, I'm just saying from what I've heard it doesn't sound like a bad idea. Am I allowed to have an opinion or is that illegal?

Going to public with an opinion on something without direct experience of it, when that experience is easily attainable, isn't exactly the wisest of decisions.

Clearly from your opinion you DO hate them otherwise you wouldn't support censoring them. And check my post again, do I at any point say you're not entitled to have an opinion? Rhetoric question, no I'm saying you're basing it on nothing.

There are good boards on 4chan, to be quite honest. Such as /an/, /k/, and /tg/. Even /x/ is fun sometimes.

But that isn't the point.

If AT&T can get away with blocking 4chan then they can block anything else they decide is 'questionable'. This is wrong.

No it's not. They're a private service, not a public company. If they want to block access to everything but Ebay that's up to them.

It's their service, they can do it how they want.

I still think however when you make changes to your service, the customer should be allowed to stop using it with repercussions.

If I want to run an ISP which only allows access to porn sites, it's my prerogative. If you don't like it, stop piggy backing on my bandwidth.

Depends on the TOS. If you reserve the right to block sites in the ToS, then the customer has already agreed to it when they sign up. Otherwise, you're making a change to the service and therefore a customer is entitled to terminate the contract if they do not agree with the new conditions.

Do you think it is morally right for ISPs to arbitrarily block content? If it's considered acceptable, it could lead to a situation where everything that goes against whatever the company wants to do is blocked.

The thing is, these companies are the only way to access the internet. That's why it's important they're not allowed to block whatever they want. In some situations more serious and important than 4chan, the internet can be the only way to reach the outside world.
