What do you guys got against 4Chan? They provide us with memes, and memes lead to lulz. I don't see the problem.

With that thin layer of users that provides us with funny witty stuff on top, comes a thick slab of idiots underneath.

The point here isn't the site in question, it's the principle. That they would block a website at all is unacceptable.

The fact that AT&T is blocking portions of 4chan has been proved. They've admitted it, for starters.
Hi Whats it like Hunting a T-Rex?
Has there been a source on them admitting it? So far all I've seen is anecdotal evidence. It's still possible that this is just a misunderstanding being blown out of proportion.

It looks like they're restoring access for most (if not all) people, at the moment.

I am kind of curious about this though:
AT&T states that they have requested specific things and changes from 4chan’s owners, and that 4chan has not complied.
Hopefully that will be elaborated on soon.

Yeessir Mr. Bean.

I concur, the anonymity really ****ed up every common visitor to that hell-hole.

Why the hell do they use -fag as a suffix.

Blocking a site is never a good thing, if you disagree with the content and its illegal, get the server down. Dont just block it.
Just like child porn, all they mostly do is blocking the sites. But anyone who really wants to reach that kind off content will access it.
They hardly take servers down, which is rather stupid and ignorant... "If no one can see it, it doesnt happen"

But I do care that AT&T seems to think they get to decide what their paying customers get to look at. As if they know better.
What, you mean AT&T aren't allowed to decide what service they're going to provide ?

As Llandy said, better to know where hte mischief makers are going ot be then having them wandering all over causing even more mischief. 4chan or not there will be a place for those people, if the lost /b/ they would simply go somewhere else and continue on.

Really there isn't a lot the ycan do about /b/ and it's better off not provoking the btards who will get 'revenge'.

Mostly I don't care about 4chan, but wallpaper/general (/wg/) is really good.

Love to see them try it. AT & T isn't a pyramid scheme by a dodgy sci fi author, they're a wee bit more in the know

Exactly. /b/ likes to think that they've got power, but the truth is that they never mess with anyone big enough to fight back. In a contest between people who like to **** with telecommunications in order to mess with people and the people who actually run telecommunications, I'd bet on the latter.

What kind of stuff are the 4chaners capable of doing? I'm not the most imaginative person...so I've got no clue.

Wouldn't be surprised if the first AT&T executive who publicly supports this block has every bit of his personal information posted all over the internet and essentially has his life destroyed by threats, pranks, blackmail, lies, whatever.

That somehow reminds me of te movie I watched last night. Enemy of the State.

I think the best option would be a mass boycott of AT&T, then. Hit them where it hurts; right in the cashflow.

Now, personally, Virgin media can block 4chan all they want, and I won't give a **** or even notice. /b/ is basically the sewage works of the internet. All the **** has to go somewhere, or it'd just build up in the streets.
