Looking very nice mate

Just wondering whether you have considered asking Nordous for some help.

http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,163368.0.html

I was also wondering whether you'd be interested in adding Rigale.

http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,209.0.html

Keep it Up mate

Can't see that Nordous offers help... It's not that I don't know how to do it it is about time.  :razz:
Rigale, eh? Never took a look at it. What's so special about it? That you can craft your own stuff?
Or is there more to know about Rigale? Please excuse my ignorance. It's not wanted more like a side effect.  :razz:

But about crafting, I had ideas like that. At least to be able to somehow use the ressources you got. I also had ideas about telling one of those farmers to grew sheeps so you get wool that you can sell or give it to your enterprise in the town. Like a mini enterprise which would stop once the village is pillaged.
But that's all fun stuff, at least for now. Once the first version is up 'n running I would like to add those details although this is not going to be a game about trade, but still, some neat details add flavor so I won't despise them.

The beauty about Rigale is that a lot of it is about the extra stuff it adds,

Rigale is aimed at trying to improve the overall interactions of the player and its party with its surrounding world, in an RPG way of doing things.

Here is a list of the "improvements"/features so far (some of the features include OSP works, check credits please):
Basic crafting (woodcrafting/smithing/cooking), linked to new skills;
Basic gathering (hunting/fishing/lumbering/mining/harvesting), linked to new skills;
Exploration (linked to discovering things on the main map, and knowing the area allows to go faster);
Some village uniqueness (better troops, special buy and special sells so far);
Guilds ranks, effects and choices (too many to describe);
Troops specialists (not only fighting troops, but also campers, miners, hunters, scouts...)
Random events;
"Strategic" party choices (entrenching/ambushing/camping/rushing/exploring);
Exhaustion
Disease (well, only dysentery for now)
Learn from doing: Rigale skills improve in many different ways. (Fighting and questing are just some part of the leveling possibilities)
And quite a lot more...

Alot of what happens is unique and the best part is that its OSP

Well, just another scene. A castle for the king of the hill and a few houses for those who will retreat to the fortress when the enemy is near.

This is the view from below...

...and from above.

I thought I might make a checklist about how many scenes still have to be done and about those that are done already. But on a second thought I found that idea is still just too demoralizing.  :roll:

Although already included in the game and although they are worth a screenshots I don't have one ready. So this picture has to suffice for now. Another great package from Kuauik's model factory. (Can't thank you enough mate!)

Can't see anything wrong with the 1st helmet. The fourth is taken from a video and then it's not. The one in the documentry had a different shape but even that really looked weird. So I guess he pretty much captured that helmet's weirdness very well.  :roll:

Nice helmets, however ,would you like me to continue with mine ??

Actually yes. I would like to have more different looking helmets. I can't really have enough of these.
Helmets and shields, so is the plan, are what makes a difference between those otherwise similar looking german tribes. So, let's say I need a least two per tribe x11 ....well, in the end 22 different looking helmets is the magic number.  :mrgreen:

I have my doubts at this point. But still, a greater number of helmets is a big help to show the difference and for you to find your own buddies on the battlefield.

Thank you!

I have always been tempted to ask you for doing scenes. Well, I guess you didn't just watch the pictures so you already know that you are going to miss your second chance to become famous.  :wink: ...and yes, I know carrying the cross for Othr and all the real life issues, but still, in case you are bored enough, you'd be welcome!  :cool:

I just read this topic and I'm really hyped for this. It looks like Brytenwalda, but closer to home! (I'm from Belgium)

I hope you're still working on it!

Yes, daily progress is made. As usual  :wink:

Currently map icons are nearly completion. They increase the atmossphere while traveling the world map quite well. I figured that in a few short testruns.
I just finished my expermiments on the player's income. Like enterprises that can be destroyed or confiscated.
The team got a new scenemaker who so far just showed me screenshots but that was quite satisfying so I expect some progress there as well soon.
My hope is to get started on sceneprops soon to be able to build roman settlements and the like. To increase the atmossphere is more and more becoming  the main goal as all else seems to run smooth and satisfying.

I do also have an idea about doing quests. I just haven't taken any step towards it but I don't expect too much trouble with these but a good way to work on your character and his reputation. These quest will if solved give your character more profile and may be give some storytelling impulses or something. I can't tell you much about it just to keep you curious.  :wink: It's not about an uber equipment afterall.

I totally lack of equipment for gladiators as I had the idea to simply have the fighters in the arena (since there are no tournaments anymore) wear this gear. I shall see if this is gonna happen. It's not of highest priority though but I would like to have this in the first release as I think it would be a nice feature. Depends pretty much on the designers. If they desert me or not.  :mrgreen:

The only problem that remains is that there is nothing much to show for now. So it's a bit quite around this place from time to time but once the map icons are finished I can show some more screenshots together with new items and whatever is new and worth a screenshot.

Glad to here you kinda care about this.  :cool:

i care too :razz:

Maybe you could also look into perhaps cooperating a bit with the Brytenwalda team? The setting is different, but not so much. (600AD: Britain - lorica squamata, byrnies, heavy emphasis on infantry, ..)

Any work shared would be time gained. :smile:

This looks absolutely amazing, Ritter Dummbatz. Can not stress enough how much I am looking forward to this!  :smile:
I just love the industrious and talented mod community of Mount & Blade!

Who doesn't know Brytenwalda?  :razz:

Whether these two mods are too different to be able to use their stuff or the things I could and want to use are already done or it's open source anyway. It's more or less about specific things like roman architecture and scenes that use these.

That's good to hear and thanks for your support!  :razz:

------------------------------

All in one please don't expect this to be another Brytenwalda. I played 1257AD a lot more but you shouldn't expect this to be another 1257AD as well.
It's probably a wise thing to hold down any expectations before you actually play it.  :cool:

------------------------------

I guess these two icons have a good chance to remain the way they are so I can as well just show them to you.
If you have doubts that a settlement named "Herulian Castle6" ever existed, please, check your sources!  :mrgreen:

Credits for this go to Ntb_15. If you ask me he did a really good job and I actually hope to credit him a lot more times.

Just to make sure you don't start to think anything different:

Still looking for modelers, texturers and sceners!

As you can see names for sites are still missing. If you know about sites that existed that time please let me know. There aren't many maps and especially sites outside the former roman borders are pretty hard to find. I'm really digging through some archaeologic websites and such thing with the hope to find informations about settlements of that time and at best if they have a name but even without I guess I'd buy it.  :wink:

Wow, very nice icons. I love the worn-down finish of the wood.

After my exams, I may be able to help you with some simple textures. But keep in mind I'm an absolute newbie at it, I've only textured a Gaelic shield once.
