I was just wondering if anyone else has got 340 damage. I regularly get 200-240.
I found a double sided lance somewhere and I use that. It is 130 in length vs. the longer regular lance. It ROCKS. I haven't seen one since, so I wonder if they are rare.
I got a screen shot of it, but forgot to save it in a program.
Just curious if anybody else it getting this high of damage.

I've occasionally seen people who get large amounts of damage from a throwing axe headshot or something similar. Although i've seen people edit the game so that they can get several thousand damage out of a single headhot.

Oh, by the way, you can now couch 2 handed polearms. Which gives you the ability to do massive amounts of damage.

i've never bothered getting good with double sided lances. They look awesome, and i'm sure they're just as good as a great lance or jousting lance once you get used to them, but i still prefer great lance. As far as doing gynormous damage... Ingolifs pretty much said it, couchable 2 hand polearms = big time damage.

I don't know the difference btwn the two lances. It is easy. I miss maybe 1/10. I line them up so I can get 3 people in a row sometimes.
Haven't editted the game or anything. Just go kill em'. I like taking on 50 river/mountain bandits.
Is the other lance easier or something? I never used one except for this. I just thought it looked cool and bought. Before that, I was just using a double sided axe and a bow and arrow. With the bow, I get 90-100 damage with headshots, with 172 experience right now.
I only started playing about 2 weeks ago. So I am still learning.
Thanks for the info, and any more to come,
Xandian

Well, IMO, the great lance is a bit better than the double sided one because of its much longer reach. It doesn't deal as much damage, but is there really a difference between dealing 90 damage and 340?

And then there's the jousting lance which is my favorite. It's a tiny bit longer than the great lance. Doesn't do as much damage, but it does blunt damage, so it knocks your enemies unconscious. Of course after I'm full up on prisoners from that (usually a single battle), I go ahead and switch back to great lance for the higher damage.
With as high as couched damage is though, all lances do sufficient damage to take just about any enemy out in a single hit.

Double-sided lance has much less reach than great lance or jousting lance, but it actually can be useful uncouched as a regular weapon. Great lance and jousting lance are almost worthless for anything but couched damage (unless you have really high polearms skill).

Yeah, I can use the double sided to hit my enemies if I don't have a running start, or if the are next to me.
My 3 weapons I carry are a bow/arrow, double sided lance, and an great axe or whatever they call the huge double sided. I usually only use the bow when get tired of chasing people and can just whip it out to shoot their horse or the rider for my other knights to kill, and I can switch back and forth real easy. Then if all else fails and some guy is bothering me enough when I am sitting still on my horse, I might pull out the axe.
I bought a great lance or something like it a while back, and it is in my inventory, maybe I will try and use it.
I have a bunch of knights in my party, and one Sword Sister, since she doesn't use a lance(a simitar instead) She does pretty good with chopping guys up when the other guys can't get them with their lance. I might have to add another female peasant to get another one.
I am still learning about the different quests and stuff. I don't know where to find the game info on what to do in the game. I am just kind of finding out on my own.

Last thing. I STILL can't figure out how to get Borcha, or that guy from the Far Forest place. AND I have read the stuff on here about it. I bought a head towel wrap thing, but when I talk to him about him wanting the shirt or whatever, it doesn't do anything. Then I bought a tunic thing, I thought sounded like what he wanted, but he still said "Yes I haven't changed my mind".
So any help on this would be great.
Thanks,
Xandian

Sometimes the thing he wants isn't in the shop. But buy the exact same thing he wants and he will join no problem

Buy Padded Cloth to get Marnid. It's a yellowish color.
Have 50 gold on you, then travel to Rivacheg. Go to the Count's room, talking first to Borcha, then to the Count. Agree to pay 50 gold, and take Borcha prisoner. Start walking away to another town, and Borcha will interrupt you twice. On the second time, agree to release him.

Like he said, there's a type of body armor called Padded Cloth. You can get Marnid any variant of it, such as "Hardened Padded Cloth", just as long as it's Padded Cloth.

Did they lower the cost for Borcha to 50 in .703? It used to be 100. I'm waiting for .704 to upgrade, so I don't know.

EDIT: Borcha costs 100 in .702, thas all I know. Guess it got changed again in .703.<shrug>

Uber polearm combo-
Iron Staff
Shield
Poleaxe
Jousting Lance
Fast horse

The staff is fast enough to get you out of tough spots, plus it has decent range. The poleaxe annihilates enemy horsemen from the ground, and the jousting lance knocks out the lowly ground-bound units while you are still on your horse

i got 650 dameg report.

I think the models should blow up if they receive more than 200 damage.
Guts and blood every where and it would be very realistic too.

Thanks for the information about marnid and borcha. I thought I was going crazy trying to find that thing. I have yet to see it.
I had to restart and make a new player since .703 says my old files are invalid.
I would be p!ssed if I had done it all on my own without the cheat codes. I still worked hard to get the troops and stuff that I had.
Damage over 400 I would be surprised, not impossible I guess though.

Mmm, 340. That is scary. I think the best I ever did was around 310... I smacked a river pirate in the head with a throwing axe. The blood spray was extremely satisfying.

I think lancing is the way to go for raw damage as of v.703. Power Strike got a boost in terms of increased damage output per skill, and Power Throw got a bit of a nerf. Since it was a close call before, it's more than enough to make the difference.
