This. Besides, the siege  mechanics alone make it seem like it's all worth it, no matter how bad the melee is.

I got the beta. I think it's actually really good. It's a general improvement on Warband with it's own style. Better than Holdfast for sure.

You can also adjust the height of your character to make yourself bigger or smaller and I think they effect the stats because I had a superfast midget attack me but only do like 5 damage and a super tall viking attack me and do millions but he moved and swung super slow. I don't know if that's actually a feature or not but it sure felt like they had different stats.

I haven't tried making a female character yet. I would guess not because otherwise everyone would be running round smacking people with watermelon tits.
