3 way battles

I don't know if the AI goes as far as "analyze your troop composition".  As far as I can tell it's a function purely based on the levels sum of your army and theirs.

Oh, so that's how it works... Anyway, cheers, here's to hoping this will make it to the King's Court.

I oppose >4 way battles, but 3 way would be nice. As has been pointed out, this will not restrict the player in any way because an AI party would work to maximize the gain/loss ratio in terms of troops only and thus always wait for a battle to be over, leaving the player as the only possible 3 way participant.

Furthermore, this greatly decreases the amount of AI work that needs to be done. Also note that just because it "works" in a free-for-all arena doesn't mean it will work on the battlefield.

i could really care less....i'm leaning towards it tho....i wouldnt mind having the option of making Yaroglek and Graveth both my *****es at once.

This thread's arguments:

"I want to be able to be a king in Unreal Tournament 2004, but they don't have that option! = The game sucks."

I think my troops would be pissed if I was to attack two enemies at once instead of just fighting the one that won.
Plus has anybody heard of a battle between 3 factions where it was everybody against the other two?

These would be EASILY winnable with even a quarter of a half of a brain.

For, you see, there is this breakthrough in keyboard technology, it's called F1, Hold this position.

It may seem very difficult to comprehend, but this amazing little button causes ALL your troops to...wait for it...Hold! Aye! They stand still and are therefore saved from an untimely sandviching between the other two forces charging at each other!

You guys talk like you're just gonna let your troops run blindly at both parties. Personally I'd like to watch my enemies fight each other and wear each other down in battle, and be able to give the order to charge in and finish them, rather than standing on the map next to the "battle", putting a weight on the CTRL and SPACE keys and going out for pizza.

Brilliant way of summing up your mentality.

Well said. And add the fact that you end up letting the lords from one side get away, effectively reducing your chance of capturing lords by 50%.
