1) I've noticed that when I change the formation setting for my companions they always seem to revert back. Half of my companions have the stats and have been geared to be archers, so I changed them to formation 2 for that. Every now and again though I check back when I'm in the party screen already and they have been switched back to formation 1 or 3, whichever one they started at initially. Is this a bug? Does anyone know of a way around the issue?

2) If I tell my archers/horse archers to "Charge", does that mean they pull out their melee weapons and charge into the fray? Or does it mean they just move towards the enemy and then begin firing when they're in range?

3) Does the party order determine participation in battle like in Warband? e.g. Do the troops at the top of the list generally spawn in first/at the front and those at the bottom of the list come after that, at least in those battles where they don't all spawn in at once?

1) Same thing happens to me. I think/hope it's a bug, and I don't know a workaround.

2.) They will take a few pot shots but eventually pull out their melee weapons when they get too close. You want to use "Advance" (F1->F4) instead for Archers. You can also just hit F6 to "delegate command" which means "let the AI handle it" which usually works pretty well if you have no specific spot you want them to be.

3.) It doesn't have any effect yet that I know of.

1) Yeah that's what I was afraid of. Been trying to remember to reset them to where I want them just before any battle/siege starts but I don't always remember

2) I was curious about the "Advance" command. So does it just tell the selected formation to move forward in the direction they are facing until they run into the enemy or are given a new command?

3) That's what I was thinking. I noticed that when you get to the victory/defeat menu at the end of fighting that the troops are sometimes listed out of order on there as well, so I was wondering if maybe there was something in the battle system that mixed up the order of troops.
