2tes Das Zweites Ostpreußisches Batalion
About us
The 2tes Das Zweites Ostpreußisches Batalion is a newly formed NA Prussian line infantry battalion. We were founded by a group of friends experienced with this time period. We thrive to create a historically accurate unit, with a proper ranking system, proper training, and most of all, proper battle tactics. We are a unit that asks for your cooperation in making this unit as historically accurate as possible.

Ranks
Rekrut/Rkt
The most basic rank, this rank is granted to someone who is new to the regiment. This is a period for us to test your skills and where we should place you/ what training we need to do/etc
Soldat/Sdt
This is the next rank, a step up from rekrut. By this time, you should have been assigned to a section.
Gefreiter/Gft
This is rank transition over from a raw Soldat to a more experienced one. This is not an NCO rank, it is more of an award. The Gefrieter has no right to command, rather they are there to set an example of what a soldier should be like.
Korporal/Kpl
The Korporal is the lowest ranking NCO, their job is too assist the Unteroffizers in maintaining order in the ranks. They require a basic knowledge of line tactics and, if necessary, take the position of Unteroffizer.
Unteroffizer/Uffz
Higher ranking NCO, highest in our Battalion. These men should be experienced and know and understand line tactics. It is their job to keep the men in order and know how to give/receive orders.
Leutnant/LT
These are the lowest ranking CO's and in charge of a section/platoon. It is their job to run the section/platoon and should be familiar with line tactics and how to coordinate with their subordinate NCO's. The most experienced Leutnant should take over in the case of their Kaptains death.
Kaptain/Kapt
The second highest CO of the battalion, the Kaptain is in charge of of the company and leads it during battle. They is expected to serve as an example to the officers under their command and to understand exactly how line tactics work. I expect my officers to drill their companies and to serve as an example to all.
Major/Maj
The highest ranking member of the battalion, the major is expected to know how to lead a battalion, understand the capabilities of his officers, serve as an example, and be able to resolve any disputes that may occur within the battalion.

Battalion Layout
Our battalion will be split into two companies each of around 40 men. Each company will be split into two sections/platoons of 20 men, and will have their own fifer and drummer. Each section will have one Unteroffizier and two Korporals, and will have a mix of enlisted men.

Alright, thanks for that bit of information. Not easy to make a unit thriving for historical accuracy with a name spelled incorrectly.

Ah sorry I failed to...there is a little mistake...the "s" after the sharp s ("ß") is one to many "...Ost-Preußische.." is correct.

The starting post says "Für mein Kaiser und Vaterland!" but prussia only had a king in this time . The austrians had a kaiser.

Haven't really heard anything about you guys yet, maybe because your still relatively new. If your interested, you could definitely show up the NA saturday siege event, you only need 8 guys. Good Luck.
