2nd Garde Schützen Bataillon
The 2nd Garde Schutzen Bataillon is a Prussian army regiment focused on skirmish and light infantry tactics as well as teamwork. We mainly operate in loose formations; screening the main line of battle and sniping out high value targets is our specialty. Though we mainly suit ourselves as light infantry, our varied methods of battle and dedicated Prussian-style training allow us to fight beside some of the most disciplined line infantry in the Army. We stress good sportsmanship within our ranks and accept only self-disciplined and motivated soldiers. Code of Conduct
- All members will respect each other at all times, regardless of any situation or circumstance.
- Any issues between members will be taken up in private with a superior officer. No public arguing or disrespect will be tolerated.
- All members of the regiment will act professionally, especially when in line battles or the teamspeak of another regiment. We will not tolerate our reputation being tarnished.
- Everyone will follow the orders of their superior officers. Any refusal or severe lack of discipline will be dealt with swiftly.
- Every soldier in the regiment will make every effort to attend practices. Nobody will be kicked for missing a few, but attendance at least occasionally will be expected.
- You will be expected to have at least a rudimentary understanding of our formations in order participate in Linebattles.
- All members must be mature. We understand that everybody goofs off from time to time, but you will be expected to act like an adult, even if you aren’t one.
- All members will be expected to get to know each other and welcome new recruits. Being on comfortable terms with everyone is important to having fun.
- Any problems during a line battle will be reported to the superior officer, not a server admin or another regiment’s leader.
- You must have Teamspeak. It is a free program, and even if you don’t have a microphone, you will still need it in order to listen to officers during Linebattles.
- You are not to shoot, stab, or harass other regiments in the Pre Line Battle practice, unless your commanding officer orders it.

Ranks
Tryouts
Conscript(Cst)- This serves as both the entry and probationary rank. While a conscript you may be dismissed at any time for misconduct. New members will remain at this rank for a maximum of two weeks.
Enlisted Men
Cadet(Cdt) - The lowest enlisted rank. Members will be promoted to this after serving two weeks as a conscript.
Gemeiner(Gmnr) - The next step up from Cadet. Troops at this rank prove an understanding of formations and shooting tactics.
Soldat (Sdt) - Soldats have proven an advanced understanding of combat tactics such as melee or shooting.
Stabsgefreiter (Stgfr) - The highest non-officer rank. Will be the model soldier for the rest of the men.
Non Commissioned Officers
Feldwebel (Fwl) - The Lowest N.C.O rank, will mostly help the other N.C.O’s and will serve as the middlemen between the Officers and the regular troops.
Vizefeldwebel (VFwl) - Will mostly work with the Feldwebels, and help the other N.C.O’s.
Sergeant (Sgt) - Responsible for correcting troop mistakes on the field,.
Unteroffizier (Uffz) - The Highest N.C.O rank. The Unteroffizier is in charge if N.C.O behavior and will settle any disputes. If all the C.O’s fall on the battlefield the Unteroffizier will lead the troops.
The Unteroffizier will work closely with the Leutnant and act as representative for the N.C.O’s.
Commissioned Officers
Leutnant (Lt) - The Leutnant has minor administrative duties, and is expected to serve as the Ears of the C.O’s. They are expected to know what is going on within the regiment at all times.
Oberleutnant (ObrLt) - The second in command. Will work closely with the Hauptmann and has similar duties. When the Hauptmann is away or falls on the battlefield the Oberleutnant will be the Hauptmann in everything but name.
Hauptmann (Hptm) - The Figurehead of the regiment. The Hauptmann acts as a diplomat to other regiments, and is the head administrator.

History
Frederick William III established by his most-supreme cabinet order, issued in Paris on 19 May 1814, the Bataillon des Tirailleurs de la Garde following the same principals as with the Neuchâtel battalion within the Grande Armée. A number of demobilised Canaries (French Riflemen) and newly enlisted men were thus recruited. Major Count de Meuron became their first commander.
On 5 January 1815 the battalion arrived in Berlin, having marched the way from Paris.The guards rifles battalion was different from all other units serving the monarch since none of its soldiers were conscripts, but all volunteer Neuchâtelois, other Swiss and Prussians. The guards rifles, rather lacking men, were one of the units accepting one-year volunteers
The battalion was to consist by two thirds of native Neuchâtelois and by one third of nationals of other Swiss cantons. However, this composition was indeed never realised. The required volunteer Neuchâtelois were usually hard to win so that many men of doubtful reputation and adventurers enlisted too. So French, originally the vernacular and the command language, was soon replaced. Since 1816 all oral and written orders had to be in German only. Wever, unlike other Prussian military units the guards rifles did not address their commander by his eventual military rank, but – in French tradition – as Herr Kommandeur.
The composition of the battalion and the behaviour of many a rifleman earned it a reputation. Women of Berlin considered the French-speaking riflemen as charming celibates and good dancers with an attractive Franco-German jargon.
