I had the men do some firing, marching, clearing, and melee training.

Those were our main men in the LB Today, more came on later but those men right there were the toughest.

I even had them do the skirmish line training as well for the heck out of it. These men did it perfectly.

During the battle, We were ordered to hold the left bridge on the map. We marched all the way but to find the rebs has already broke through. We held the most closet stonewall and blocked them while the 7th Cav could retreat to the last line of defense organized by Maj Gen Lance and Gen Meagher. We were badly decimated but we managed to hold them off. I ordered a fall back to the stone wall. We held with 2nd US Sharpshooter, 6th and 7th Cav, and 63rd NY. The Rebs, combined by two-three regiment did a mass charge at us. We held them off successfully and counter-charged them to victory. Only three surived at the end of the round, Lt Cook, CSgt McSwiggens, and Joe097.

Battle Report

We had a private Linebattle between the 27th Virginia and 28th Mass. We decided to play one map, and first team reach three wins, wins the battle.

During the First round, we chose First Manassa morning map. We crossed the bridge and went to the far cornfield side where we received contact from the woods. Two of our men fell during the engage and I had the men to pull back due to confusion. We fell back across the bridge to seek better cover. We held on the stonewall by the bridge while the 27th spilt up and flanked our both side. We did a retreat dash to the final federal camp. We held there and was engaged in a fierce melee combat. We won the first round.

Second round, I had the men to march up the hill overlooking the river to scout out the 27th. We spotted they have spilt up again and going to extreme flank of our side. The volunteer Joshua Chamberlain volutneered as cavalry scout, he was able to report position, i ordered the men to march all the way to the other stonewall bridge, passing by the mini house in the middle of map to the two farm house. We held our men in skirmish position and assigned two scouts to our far right side flank, they took out two men and retreated to us. Then we did a retreat to a nearby hill where we took out some of the 27th. We realized the 27th decided to stay put since they were weakened and decimated. I ordered a bayonet charge which we were successful. None of the 28th fell during the charge. We won the second round.

Third round, I did the same tactic by marching up the hill and had Private Chris to build us a nice fort. We held the fort while Chamberlain scouts the area. He was able to take out some and fell during the scouting. We were suddenly attacked by three direction. Our men fought hard and it remained on 1 v 1 bayonet fight between Cookie and Lee. Lee was killed and we lost  the round.

Fourth round, I encouraged the men to fight hard and had them to spam the chat with insultment to confederates. The best one by Lee "Go find a better boot, oh wait you cant" and "You smell like fish". We were reported that they had build up two forts right at their spawn. We did a fine proper march and by the time we got there. we were at the woods, I ordered the men to march forward slowly with bayonet at charged position. Which we did very lovely. By the time we got in the open, I ordered a double quick charge, we charged the position and stabbed the Rebs back to hell. We won our third round. 28th Massachusetts was rewarded with Victory of 3-1. We Want to thank the 27th for playing.

- 1st Lt William Cook, 28th Mass, Irish Brigade, 1st Division, Union Army Division.
